"Staff are very polite, especially the staff at the restaurant, it was a great experience of the Kaiseki. Room is clean, and nice with the onsen. Staff are very helpful and cheerful. "
"The best onsen hotel that we ever stayed at! the room is huge and hospitality was outstanding! also, dinner was very delicious as well! highly recommend this onsen hotel "
"We had a wonderful stay in Kurosawa - a beautiful little town. The Hanadomari was super - the best part was our private onsen next to the river. Awesome!"
"This was my first experience at at ryokan, and the inn is one I would gladly visit again. Great staff, comfortable beddings, fantastic exteriors, and amazing spa facilities (both public and private). It's a bit of a walk from the main town, though."
"I love the traditional tatami rooms here. The ‘Bekkan’ is an annex and based in an older building that is charmingly done. It has its own baths, but you have access to the bigger and outdoor baths at the main building a block away. We hadn’t ticked the dinner box when reserving. Dining options in this town may be somewhat limited as most onsen inns serve meals inside. The restaurants fill up. We ordered the dinner when we arrived. It is a bit pricey, but is a all you can eat buffet with...

"stayed here for 2 nights. excellent location in Kumamoto Shinshigai in the center of the nightlife area with lots of good restaurants and stores in close proximity. Slightly dated hotel.
A walking distance from Kumamoto Castle and Josaien.
The hotel amenities and breakfast is ok.
They do have vending machines, coin laundry, ice dispenser and a microwave on certain floors. They also have an large public indoor and outdoor bath space and sauna for both men and women on the top floor.
They have an automated car parking tower next to the hotel with staff assistance; there is a size limit for the car so you may want to check the sizes in advance.
There are many coin car parking spaces nearby but will be full during weekend nights with many locals coming to this area for dinner."

"Newly renovated Kumamon room made will make you smile. There are many photo opportunities with Kumamon in the property. Breakfast buffet is highly recommended. "
"Hotel was lovely.
Room very large, definitely a Western feel but with some Japanese features (eg sliding doors separating living compartments). As with most Japanese hotels it has no cupboards!
Large lounge for heating/eating food which was great and cheap washing facilities too.
Location excellent, good base for visiting the area, although a car is an essential."

"Very nice and spacious room. Very valuable for the price point. This is the only hotel out of my trip (stayed in 6 hotels in total) whereby staff will run towards me and help me with luggage. Not that I need that, but this gesture alone is very very welcoming and showed the enthusiasm. My first time staying in Hotel Nikko branch and was wowed by it. Will choose the same chain in the future wherever I go. The only down side is that the parking is very exp for 1 night (2200 yen). However, if they keep the room pricing valuable, I will still choose the same hotel. Thank you hotel Nikko for a wonderful stay! "
