8.2/10 Very Good! (3,745 reviews)
This property interior is quite dated for a hilton, but also clean. The bed was comfortable, and it was quiet at night. I think its priced appropriately for what it was though.
The hotel charges extraordinary fees for parking (40$/night) and the lot seems to always be pretty empty as a result. Not sure why they want to discourage people from driving here. Alternative public transit options are slim since the ferry closed. The closest walking bridge over the highway into berkley is also currently closed, so you end up kind of trapped in the marina area if you dont pay to park your car in their lot. It was difficult/expensive to get to restuarants or grocery as a results, and unfortunately the hotel seems to know that and charges prices for food and water ($12 for 1L) that would make a disneyworld exec blush.
The setting is however quite scenic (sailboats!) and feels very safe, and the staff are quite pleasant/friendly. There are also nice walking paths around the marina that are wonderful for watching sunset/sunrise.
I rate it 3/5 (i.e. average/acceptable) - the hotel itself was fine. Challenges getting off the peninsula were a drag on my experience. Its actually a pretty nice place to be stuck if you like walking around and looking at sailboats though.
