Destin , "The Luckiest Fishing Village in the World" is a short 26 mile drive east. Angler's can try their luck bottom fishing for reef fish including species such as red snapper, grouper, amber jack and trigger fish. Trolling for blue marlin, sailfish, yellowfin tuna, mahi mahi and wahoo is another option. The Destin Fishing Rodeo runs the entire month of October.

The Gulf of Mexico and the beautiful emerald coast of Navarre beach is only a 10 minutes drive. Take a walk out on the Navarre Beach fishing pier and catch a sunset or drop a line. At 1,545 feet it's the longest fishing pier on the Gulf of Mexico.

You could take a drive from Navarre beach through the Gulf Islands National Seashore to Pensacola beach and dine on fresh seafood & oyster's at Legendary Peg Leg Pete's. When you get burned out at the beach and need a break from the sun take in a Pensacola Blue Wahoo's baseball game at Admiral Fetterman Field downtown. The team plays in the Southern League and is the AA affiliate of the Miami Marlins.
