"Overall the property was very enjoyable. The beachfront aspect was definitely a plus both at sunrise and sunset. Amazing campfires on the beach and beautiful skies above. The property itself was in fairly good condition, a little bit of bubbling on the vinyl flooring but nothing noticeable to the eye. The beds were comfortable and the pull out couch worked great for my party of 6! No sleeping complaints. Overall a very enjoyable place to stay."

"This was a great family gateway that made us all remember and think of our caribbean beaches back in Venezuela. Kudos to Tom and all the staff for their amazing customer service and attention to details. They were all very friendly and helpful to make our stay better. The only draw back is that the units don't have A/c unit and it was very very hot during the night even with all fans turned on. Tom mentioned they were working on that, and hopefully it'll be addressed for next summer."

Oakes Hotel Overlooking the Falls

"We booked a fallsview room and were not disappointed with the view from room 1818. It was certainly the highlight, especially with fireworks each night at ten pm (Friday and Saturday, anyway) and a bonus lightning show over the river the second night. Fairly basic, clean, nice sized rooms although with lower quality mattresses and bedding than I’d expect at this price point. Travelling with a young son, the most disappointing part. We had a swim in the evening and the deck and water had several clumps of hair and some mess from dirty outdoor shoes on the wet deck. I’d hoped the late 9 am pool opening would guarantee it was cleaned up, but the same mess and hair clumps were in the same place 12 hours later when we returned. Other than that, the location was unbeatable, the staff were lovely, and we enjoyed our stay."

"The room toiletry bottles were nearly empty when we arrived, after housekeeping reset the room, the bottles were not refilled. Luckily I brought my own shampoo/conditioner and body wash but I thought it so odd that they weren't filled not even once during our 3 night stay and that they were empty to begin with. Also, parking is a big business in Niagara Fall area. You are better off going to the lot across the street yourself to pay $20 a day rather than get a parking pass from the hotel to park in the same lot for $35. Parking on the hotel lot is $70 and valet $100CAD. Don't be lazy, park it yourself across the street and save yourself the money. The onsite amenities, restaurants and easy access to things was great."
