"The cabin was really nice. It stayed plenty warm for us the couple days we stayed there. The only downside is you can hear every footstep and whisper anywhere in the cabin. We didn't think to bring our own box fans for background noise, but it would have been nice if there were some provided. And the water smelled horribly like sulfur, we had to go buy our own water."

"The cabin was clean. Very nice dishware and plenty of dishes and cookware. We brought night lights for my elderly mother to have safety in the dark, being in the woods made it comfortably dark for most. The mattresses were not up to my current quality, but were sufficient. The linens were nice and extra available. Towels were newer and plush. The toaster only had one side that was fully functioning...but we made due. The pot holes on the dirt road could use some frequent attention. Overall......

"This was a great home for our large group! Ample sleeping space for all, large and very well equipped (and labeled!) kitchen, and enough space for everyone to relax as they wished. The connecting trail to the state park was perfect and we enjoyed a few hikes to Lake Michigan. The host was very easy to communicate with and helpful when we had questions. Would be a great place in the summer, too!"

The “living room” are didn’t have much seating for the number of people the house sleeps. I think there should be something in the description that mentions the kitchen and living room are 15 steps up."

"The cabin was cute! Extremely clean and had just about everything we needed. Larger than it looks. Very private. Loved the woods. The rules were a little strict, in my opinion. But probably fine for most people. A couple things to note for future stays: bring paper towel, long lighter & hatchet (there's plenty of wood, but the logs were big and not split) The beginning of the trail behind the house is not marked or really visible, but if you just walk straight back, you will reach it! "This was the sixth time in Mears,MI i was staying in different properties,but this one is the best and very special.."

"This was the perfect property for our group who was in town to visit family. We all had plenty of room, and the house has tons of seating areas. Some of the lighting was a bit tricky to figure out, but that was a minor thing. Only thing lacking in the kitchen was potholders, so we just used kitchen towels and went on with our meal. Hot tub was a nice touch at the end of the day!"

The home was clean, appeared as advertised, and had everything we needed (plenty of towels, kitchen utensils, etc). Communication from the hosts was excellent - clear, friendly, and timely. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and making s’mores on the fire pit by the lake. We’d definitely visit again!"
