We toured the UK and this was the best hotel by far. I loved everything about it. Nice, small apartment with everything you need. Responsive on-site service. Very friendly and clean. I wish there were more of these all over the UK.

It was so nice to have off street parking as cars were sometimes triple parked on the street. It was a very large and comfortable apartment in easy walking distance to a bus stop into the city and a grocery store. We enjoyed our stay.

Cozy and quiet. Near enough to everything that we could walk. EXCELLENT staff, all around, truly. Very pleasant breakfast served downstairs each morning. Highly recommend.

The Merchant Hotel was a bank in its previous life. As a former banker myself, I enjoyed hearing about it’s history, and seeing how beautifully it has been converted to its present use. Magnificent!

Pros: close to the town center and the starting point of the hop on hop off bus tour. Several pubs with food within a few blocks walk.
Cons: The mechanicals were giving the staff issues. The hot water system was off and on. The AC in the room was not working and since the hotel was at the crossroads of two main roads opening the window to get some cooler air made sleeping a bit difficult without earplugs. For us the duvets are always too hot so we had the housekeeper put just a flat sheet for a...

The hotel is very modern. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast that you had to pay for was not very good. There was a self service laundry that you didn’t have to pay for, which was good.
It was right across from the Titanic Museum.
