“The nicest, most helpful staff!!!!”

The hotel was very nice and clean. Located on a private beach and 20 minutes walk into town. Great place for families. The outdoor breakfast cafe was breathtaking. I can't wait to go back!

“Great Getaway!!!”

The hotel was exceptional and the staff were very friendly. We were greeted by a valet who took care of our luggage and assisted us to check in. He then gave us the layout of the room and told us everything we needed to know about the hotel. The pool was lovely and clean, but lounge chairs were a premium. Would recommend you put your towels out BEFORE going to breakfast - which was located on the west lawn (fantastic views and terrific breakfast). The hotel grilled at lunch and you could order fish or meat, a pasta dish or anything off the small menu. The bar was open all day until midnight. Their bartenders were excellent and remembered our room number after the first nite. The town was exactly 20 minute scenic walk, but uphill for a part of the way. The town closes down at 1 p.m. until 5 or 6. Plan accordingly. Dinner starts around 7 at local restaurants and goes until late! I would advise against the Big Red Bus and just walk. Take the boat to the Grotto - but it costs extra to see the grotto (not really worth it). Do the all day boat trip with lunch and swimming/snorkeling. Much better option. This is a great long weekend trip unless you rent a car to get out and about. Loved the hotel...this one or the Carlos V hotel would be an excellent option!

“Alex is excellent. Good value”

Overall solid hotel. Good value. Alex at front desk is very kind and helpful. Nice smile. Good location. Go through front entrance not back. Internet in the room works well.

“Very Nice Stay”

This was our first visit to Sardinia and Alghero and we were looking for someplace that wasn't directly in the center of all the activity and noise but was still within walking distance of the old town and port. The Calabona fit the bill perfectly. The room was clean and modern and in great condition. Included breakfast was good. Notably, the staff was EXTREMELY informative, helpful, and attentive. I would definitely return.

“Relaxing get away”

My sister and I went to Calabona for a weekend away from Florence. It was a lovely stay, not much to do around the hotel, but it was definitely relaxing which is just what the doctor ordered.

“More of a Group Hotel”

A bit outside of the old town of Alghero, the Calabona is by itself (no other hotels, restaurants, etc.). It seems to cater more to groups than individuals. The swimming pool is not heated. The facilities are fine and the staff is friendly. A 10-minute walk brings you into the old town.
