The hotel is situated north of downtown Altus, a small town supporting Altus AFB. The room was small but comfortable, and well equipped (LCD tv, fridge, microwave). It's well located across from WalMart and near lots of dining options.

Nice room, but smoke smell.Posted Dec 1, 2013
Pros: It was convenient and clean.
Cons: Fix smoke coming into non smoking room. Perhaps all non smoking rooms should be in one portion of the hotel and all smoking rooms in another portion.
The room was nice and clean, but we asked for a non smoking room and although the room was considered non smoking, we smelled smoke very strongly in the bathroom like it was coming in thru the vent from another room. We not smoke and do not want to smell smok when we sleep. The breakfast was great.

Nice hotelPosted Jul 1, 2013
Pros: Close to Walmart and restaurants. Room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: A working shower, but clerk put in a work order as soon as I reported it.
Location: Good location.
The hotel had microwave, coffee pot, and refrigerator. The AC worked well (very hot that day). The room was clean and bed was comfortable. My only complaint was no water in bath/shower. I reported it at checkout...not at 3AM when I discovered the problem. The clerk was very apologetic and offered to let me use an empty room. I heard the breakfasts there are great, but didn't get up in time. I would stay there again.

OK in AltusPosted Sep 3, 2012
This is a good place to stay in Altus, OK. The room was clean and comfortable. It had a nice indoor/outdoor pool and the complimentary hot breakfast which included cheese omelets and sausage was excellent. The room rate was not exactly a bargain, but it was reasonable for this type hotel. The only glitches in the whole experience were a desk clerk that liked to chat interminably on the phone while "live" patrons were waiting to check in and a problem with the TV reception. The TV reception problem affected quite a few people because one of the channels that was out carried the first University of Oklahoma football game of the season. For some reason, they could get the channel on the lobby TV set and in the lounge. The reception there was lousy, but at least you could follow the game--which was impossible in the rooms. A lot of us OU fans had to watch the game (which lasted until 1 a.m.) in the hotel lobby. The lounge was too loud and noisy for serious fans.

I'd think twice.Posted Jun 17, 2011
The breezeway where the ice machine and soft drink machine were located could have used a good "hose down" and general cleanup. I wouldn't recommend this Best Western to a friend unless they had kids - there were a whole bunch there (could be in transit military families). Anyway, never was able to use the hot tub because every time I checked on it, it was full of kids. The evening desk personnel was very helpful, i.e., lobby printer wouldn't print out a map for me so the desk clerk did it at her machine. Also, the female bartender was very outgoing and pleasant.
