great location in Central Aqaba. hotel was basic but had everything I needed. was given a pleasant room on the top floor. only two things missing for me - a bath and alcohol! otherwise good tv channels and very comfy beds.

Still delivers a good service and for the price is what we expected, good location and great brekfast buffet.No complains besides the fact that this hotel might need a refurbishment soon.

Golden Tulip, Good for the price if booked here

Pros: I liked how laid back it was compared to other hotels that check you and your bags before you even walk in.
Cons: Cosmetic investments
Location: Golden Tulip is pretty close to a lot of the restaurants in aqaba. Very close to the Double Tree by Hiltion, mcdonalds, Ali Baba restaurant etc.
I got a room for 3 and the room was nice booked through expedia. The area surrounding the hotel is a little shabby but the staff does their best to be hospitable and welcoming. They let me bring food in so that was a big plus and if you know Jordan... Liquor is crazy expensive but the bar at the golden tulip has some pretty good deals comparatively. It's also 2 minutes walking distance from double tree hotel and 5 minutes from the public beach. They have beach trip deals that include boat riding and scuba diving that are pretty good prices. A trip out on the boat with diving and a meal included, also if you JUST want to go to the private beach they'll take you for a small fee that including the entrance fee. Which is good considering its a 15 minute taxi ride and the entrance fee is kind of expensive. Again, the staff was pretty cool... they put on karaoke for me and my friends and tried to teach us Dubka dancing!

All around a good spot

Hotel was nice, maybe a 3 - 3+ star. Check in was quick. Room was nice enough, air conditioner didn't work. They sent someone up at 10pm, and said I could wait to get it fixed the next day or move rooms, but it would take an hour to get another room?? ANyway, surprised them by wanting another room, but had to follow up with the desk after an hour. Had to also get the key downstairs and move our bags, was not really expecting that from a 4 star. But restaurant for breakfast was good, pool seemed fine, location was decent as well. Couple of dive shops around the corner. Some restaurants across the street were popular, cheap, nice spot for a sheesha. Rooms were quite as well. So yeah it was pretty good, but wasn't cheap.

Wonderful location, affordable, and great views

I booked this hotel because it was affordable and seemed to be in a central location. It can be tough to locate - because the street its located on appears to be a parking lot at first. The rooms are wonderful-- and we were given a free upgrade! We had a rooftop room - where we were able to step out and see the Red Sea from our balcony! The only draw backs were that the elevator was down and the hotel food was not that appealing. (It was a buffet- and I would not recommend it.) Aqaba is a beautiful city and extremely underrated. its affordable- this hotel places you in a comfortable, safe, and convenient part of the city. You feel like you have a 4 or 5 star place- while paying for a 2 star.

The staff are rude to foreigners, especially if you are not Muslim. The rooms are sub-standard and in poor repair. There is a lot of noise due to hotel remodeling. This is about a 2 star hotel and definitely no where close to a 4 star. I would never stay at this hotel or any other owned by Golden Tulip.
