“Lovely location”

Hotel was fabulous. Not a 5 star you would expect from Irish standards but nevertheless very good. The view from my balcony was great - the Bavarian Alps. The food was fantastic and the service first class. the reception staff were very helpful and willing to do anything. Overall I recommend taking a few minutes extra on your journey out of Salzburg (15mins by train) to stay in this stunning location.

“Older , but very lovely and gracious”

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was older, but gracious and accommodating. I did have to ask for a fan to be brought to my room. I was suprised it was not already in the closet for guests. There was no luggage stand, so I had to put my suitcase on the floor. I would have expected two towels in the room, but they brought me a second one when I asked. The room was lovely, ,and I very much appreciate the complimentary internet and breakfast. The setting for breakfast was especially appealing. They remembered that my husband liked decaf coffee and brought it without being asked. Great service! The pool was very nice and relaxing. We enjoyed the restaurant for dinner, too.

“Elegant Hotel”

The Radisson Blu was one of those elegant, old hotels that you always wanted to stay in as a kid but your parents booked the Holiday Inn. My family and I loved it. Great location, nice, elegant room. Very clean too.

“Beautiful Old Hotel”

Wonderful historic hotel in great town. Anybody going to Salzburg should stay here instead of the zoo that is Salzburg. The hotel staff was very gracious and the food in the hotel was excellent. Breakfast is too expensive, though.

The service was tremendous, and the room was very comfortable and very old world at the same time. The hotel is in the pedestrian district, and it has very close access to great shopping and dining.

The hotel is by far the most beautiful and best hotel I've ever stayed in all of Europe. The rooms are spacious and clean, I loved the staff as well. I would love to go back again.

“Upgrade needed”

We had a nice stay at Steigenber Axelmannstein; The rooms are quite comfortable; upgrade is however required to match current 5 star standards (no TV flat screens, old style bathroom,...) Personnel at the reception was not at the level of 5 star hotels, good service however in the restaurants of the hotel

“Good hotel, bad room”

Public areas and facilities of the hotel are good but our room was not. It was tiny with stained armchair seat and lamp shade, unironed curtains and body/hand/hair wash. I know it is practical and easier for the cleaning staff but when I check into a five star hotel I want luxury not three star practicality. Another issue was complete absence of any information about hotel facilities, e.g. location and hours of the pool, gym, bar, check out time etc. The hotel doesn't have the usual information folder. When we asked the reception about the folder, thinking they forgot to put it in our room, we were given an A4 sheet of paper with the opening hours of the bar, restaurant, pool, sauna. It didn't even have check out time on it.
