Location, location!Posted Oct 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
Good location and friendly service, perched overlooking the Daintree River. The units are from a different era but clean, comfortable and good value. We saw a croc from the big elevated veranda outside our room!

Location was great, but not premiumPosted Aug 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
We paid for a premium room, but the room and facilities were less than premium. No tea making facilities in the room, TV, toiletries or washer. The room was small.Great shared outdoor space for unit rooms, but these were taken over by campers who appeared to be regular users of this space, ignoring the signs that said "Lodge residents only" Smoking allowed in this area which affected non-smokers trying to eat. Had to ask for bowls to prepare breakfast and the communal tea towels were wet with insufficient available for the number of guests. Would not be as disappointed if we had not have paid a premium price.

What a view!Posted Jul 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
The staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and at home - nothing seems to be too much trouble. The views from the veranda are fabulous as you look out over the Daintree river. We loved the layout, the friendly open set up on the huge porch/veranda (with all amenities in easy reach) and the magnificent feel of being on the Daintree. We've been before and we'll certainly be back again!

Great, exceeded expectationsPosted Jul 16, 2012 on Hotels.com
Other than the normal stuff (clean, friendly, etc.), the hotel has a great location, with a large balcony overlooking the Daintree river. The balcony serves as a kitchen/dining/meeting room, and has a sink and plates, etc., provided for free - just wash after yourself - which makes for a great atmosphere and induces conversation between guests. At night it's very quiet, just the sounds of nature (after all the guests have gone to bed, obviously). Boat trips on the river leave from right under the balcony in the morning, and the hotel can arrange them for you. Highly recommended.

Quiet locationPosted Jun 13, 2012
Pros: Quiet location.
Cons: No air conditioner.
Location: Peaceful and quiet.
Quiet location, great views over the lake. No airconditioning or heating, so be mindful of this when booking. No tv in room, but that is okay if you are going for a nice relaxing holiday. Small town with little to do.
