Cute hotel in good location

Posted Jun 27, 2014
Pros: The location and the friendly staff.
Cons: Soundproof the nightclub or at least warn your customers and offer to put them in rooms FAR away from it if they don't plan to go there.
Location: Morehampton road is a main thoroughfare in Dublin so it was easy to get a cab or bus. The walk to Temple Bar area was about 30 minutes.
We chose the Hampton Hotel online because it was centrally located to the Donneybrook Lawn and Tennis club where we spent much of our time. It was also convenient to downtown Dublin, either a brisk walk or by bus. The staff was always very pleasant and helpful and the room, although small, was very clean. The bathroom was roomy and updated. The only problem, and something we were not warned about before booking, was the Vanilla nightclub on the lower level. It opens at 11 pm on Saturday night and the music is loud and booming until the wee hours of the morning. During our stay, someone set off the fire alarm at about 2 am as well. For this reason, I personally would probably not stay there again unless my trip did not include a Saturday. Otherwise, it was great and fairly priced.

2 night stay

Pros: safe parking a big plus and lovely bathroom huge TV in room staff friendly and helpful.
Cons: there could be some sort of entrance from car park to hotel as you have to walk around to front of hotel from car park
Location: good location in Donnybrook Village bus stop right outside gets you into Dublin City Centre in minutes
we were going to a concert at the 02 and decided to stay in the Hampton as it had parking and good links to the 02. Very quick check in the receptonist even checked out the transport we had arranged for the 02, There is a safe car park at back of hotel which is locked and requires buzz in. Our room was at the back not a great view but everything else was fine. Huge TV in room and although room not huge the bathroom was lovely and big

Fantastic bathroom

If you get at the right price it's a good stay. Try to get room on top floor as lower floors can be noisy all night. Comfortable rooms, great bathrooms, good breakfast and a well serviced bar

Great place unless you want to sleep

Posted May 13, 2014
Nice hotel about a 20 minute walk from the city centre. Room was small, but very neat and clean with a huge tv. Staff very polite and friendly. Problem was that the music playing in the first floor bar was so loud that it kept us awake on the 4th floor! To top that off, a group of young women were having a loud, drunken party across the hall til after 2am. Someone must have told the hotel staff, because they came up a couple times and gently suggested to the women that they might consider being quieter. Needless to say, they ignored the suggestion. Was very happy to check out and go to Galway where we slept just fine!

Beautiful birthday getaway

Posted May 11, 2014
Pros: Lovely big rooms, bed was really comfy, great big plasma. Love the passageways to the rooms.
Location: Donnybrook Fair which is a lovely deli. The Farm restaurant. Guiness Storehouse, Temple Bar, St Stephen's Green.
Lovely hotel. We arrived Thursday and left Saturday morning. We got there rather early on the Thursday and even though our room wasn't ready they were fine with us dropping off the bags. We went back and got a check in one hour earlier than expected. We were on the 4th floor so didn't hear any noise from the nightclub on the Friday night. Receptionist was very helpful when we asked about getting into the city centre. It was only about a 30minute walk or you could get a number of different buses to the centre. There's a really nice deli by the hotel to the right hand side we bought some freshly baked goods in there as the breakfast rates were a bit pricey.

Lovely hotel, good location

The hotel is lovely. All staff are very friendly. It's about a 15 minute walk from the centre of town however this is not a problem as there are still shops and pubs close to the hotel, restaurant food is very nice and very well priced. All staff are very friendly.

Spectacular bathroom!

Posted Apr 8, 2014
Pros: The bathroom had a heated mirror, which meant it avoided condensation, I didn't even know such things as heated mirrors exited. My room was also tops.
Cons: How do you stop people walking along corridors at 3.00am with heavy feet?
Location: About a 15-20 minute walk from the heart of the City, in a pleasant neighbourhood. If you're lazy a taxi won't cost much.
Arriving fairly late in the evening I was blown away by my room, which was fantastic, and also the restaurant/bar. Only stayed for three nights in Dublin, and wished I'd stayed more. Dublin is a place full of bars, and barbers; seriously I've never seen so mant barbers shops in my life! It's a charming place, with friendly locals, and much history.
