Two Room Suite Not so Sweet

Posted Feb 16, 2015
Pros: The bed was very comfortable. It is downtown in Fargo so close enough to walk to places if the weather is good. Fine if you can get the room cheap.
Cons: Mark off that you have cleaned each room every day. Update the furniture and decoration. Get the phone fixed so it is next to the bed.
Location: Very cold when we stayed so you had to drive everywhere. Very close to everything downtown Fargo has to offer which is a lot.
We were told we had a two room suite, sounds nice doesn't it? The room is completely outdated with big empty spaces, broken down furniture, few pictures on the walls. Spent two hours getting the cable to work on one of the tvs. The walls have dents and cracks like it had seen much better days. The furniture literally is falling apart with dressers having broken out backs, and bent in the middle like too much weight was on them. The office chair did not sit up straight the other chair in the room had the bottom falling out. The pull out sofa wall had no decoration just black streaks across the walls. The bed in the bedroom is right next to the wall heater that runs nonstop so either too hot or too cold and never a good temperature through the night. There is a big open empty floor space that looks large enough for a second bed and a broken down wall unit with drawers along the other wall. The phone in the bedroom was cordless, one problem the plugin is across the room so you have to leave it sitting in the middle of the floor to be plugged in and attached to the landline. We left the room at noon on the second day and got back at 8:45 at night. Our room was not touched; the front desk girl took our trash and brought us clean towels leaving the dirty towels in a pile and no new soaps/shampoos. Ice machine leaked all over the floor leaving a puddle to walk through.

Ok for price but esp nice it's close to Sanford

Nice to have the pool, breakfast and free newspapers. However, in our first room the TV didn't work & bathroom door wouldn't close or lock & dull furnishings. We were then moved to another room which had same dull furnishings, bathroom door wouldn't lock but did close at least & tub had someone else's long hair in it & bath tile was badly cracked. Overall 2-2.25 score

Room accomidations

Posted Feb 6, 2015
Pros: All service was good.
Cons: Easier to get to.
Location: Location was hard to get to with road construction, but that is understandable.
The room we stayed in was good. Beds were comfortable. The only problem we had was with the bar and grill that was attached to the Inn. The staff that worked at the grill did not bus the tables after people were done eating. To me that is a no no.

Worst stay ever

Posted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: It was clean enough. The employees we friendly.
Cons: Security, safety, not allowing drunks to party all in the hallway. Enforcing the rules (quiet by 10:00 P.M.),
Location: Not great if you want to go shopping at West Aces Mall or by any of the major outlets. Out of the way for dining too. Not a great location.
Our recent stay at the Howard Johnson in Fargo was by far our worst hotel experience to date. I travel constantly with business and also use hotels at least 3 times a year for personal vacation so I use hotels at least a dozen time a year. When we booked our room we were not informed that half the hotel was booked with people in town for a hockey tournament. These people were all booked in our area in the hotel, next door, across the hall and all the way down the hall. The first night, Friday, once the pool closed at 10:00 and the kids stopped running up and down the halls the parents took their turn. There were drunk people in the hallway until at least 3:00 A.M. They were yelling, laughing, swearing, using the ice machine every 10 minutes not giving any thought or concern for the other patrons in the hotel. Even when the staff asked them to quiet down it did not stop. On Saturday we considered moving to another hotel. We were only in town for a couple days and did not want to spend half our Saturday trying to find 2 rooms at another hotel. We thought there would be no way Friday night's escapades would be repeated. We couldn't have been more wrong. The partying was louder and lasted until 4:00 A.M. this time. I am currently in the process of trying to get a full refund from The Howard Johnson. I hope they do the right thing. This experience ruined our weekend! I would NOT recommend this hotel to any sane person who is just looking for a quiet, safe place to stay!

Pros: The food in the Restaurant was good and the waitress was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Cleaning, cleaning and cleaning. Security guards for safety, remodeling, new bedding and mattresses.
Location: The locating was great, Downtown and close to the event center. Nice little Restaurants around and you can walk down the Broadway 5 min. away.
The matrasses was old and the bedding was smelling, the bathroom was dirty and many thinks like the mirror and the faucet was broken. The noises in the hotel was going on all night long . People talking, Door slamming middle in the night at 2am. The swimming area was dirty, so I was not going swimming that all. I could not find a exciting room that all. Windows in the entered area are dirty. You would think it is foggy outside. I was glad to leave on the next day. I was sleeping in a lot of hotels in my life, some cheap motels for $25 was better than the room in this hotel for over $70. The Restaurant is right in the middle of a entre door and people walking constantly trough this little Restaurant.

Not bad, nice pool, breakfast and puppy friendly

Good service until I asked for extra towels. The maid skipped cleaning our room (we stayed 2 nights) so I brought our trash out to her and requested more towels. She proceeded to argue with me and would only give me 2 towels.
