A week of leisure activities.....Posted May 15, 2014
Pros: The location to the area. The friendly staff. The morning breakfast offering.
Cons: Appliance updating....along with the cable service offering.
Location: Very convenient to the " Four Corners " area of the Southwest US.
I found this property convenient to all desired locations I had intended to visit. A base camp, if you like. I visited family in Bloomfield as well as Aztec. Visiting Mesa Verde to the north was a simple two hour drive. Durango merely an hour away. I found this property to be generally in " Good Repair ". I believe this hotel is some forty years in age . My room was clean and somewhat spacious compared to newer hotels constructed in the recent years. I believe this hotel was a very good value.

Nicest bed I've ever slept in ...Posted May 14, 2014
Pros: all stated above.
Cons: keep on doing what you are doing!
It was a really enjoyable visit at the Red Lion. We enjoyed a great quality dinner in the restaurant. The rooms were immaculate, it was the best bed ever. The noise level was nile; the staff, friendly and helpful. The bathroom was updated and very clean. There was a sign in the lobby "We want to be the #1 hotel." I'd like to say that I agree with their claim.

The smell! Like something died there....Posted May 5, 2014
Pros: It was convenient for me, as my conference was in the same hotel.
Cons: The smell in the room and the smell in the public bathrooms.
Location: Nothing to add about location or things to do nearby.
Do not stay in room 125, it smelled bad. I should've changed rooms but I was tired and didn't want to go upstairs - their elevator is scary! My clothes smelled and I ended up getting a migraine because of the smell. I will never stay there again. Never. When I told the front desk clerk, she didn't seem to care and never apologized.

Showing it's age but still worth the stayPosted Apr 20, 2014
Pros: Comfortable room and bed, nice pool area.
Cons: Better on-site technical support - the wi-fi was out my entire stay. Could have used an end table near the easy chairs.
Location: The Riverwalk begins behind the hotel: nice trails along the Animas River and through the bosque. Great for a morning walk or run.
I remember when this property was first built nearly 40 years ago. At one time it was the premier hotel in Farmington and it is still one of the better ones. The rooms are large and comfortable. The huge central atrium with a gazebo, pool and tub is the property's defining feature. The fitness center is on a balcony deck overlooking the pool, very nice! The on-site restaurant is decent, nothing exciting but also nothing to complain about. I hear the Sunday morning buffet is great but I haven't tried it. The lounge is a bit of a dive with obnoxious music and a lousy selection. But, like I said, it is starting to show it's age. When I arrived their computers were down and they couldn't check me in. The drains in my room were very slow, the wi-fi did not work at all, there were signs of patched walls and the carpets were fading. The television was the smallest I have seen in a room in a long time. Except for the lack of internet, which was a real problem and forced me to go find a hot-spot in town, I did enjoy the stay. The pool had a few kids playing in it but I was still able to have a relaxing soak. The room's heating/cooling worked well and was not too noisy, the bed was comfortable, the refrigerator was cold when I arrived and there was a microwave. I've stayed here several times over the years and I will stay again. Red Lion has kept the old property up and running as good as one could expect.

Decent hotel centrally locatedPosted Mar 11, 2014
Nice sized clean room. Weird smells throughout the hallways of the hotel. Every door creeked loudly and slammed shut. Older hotel but decent for the price.

Starting to fail.Posted Feb 1, 2014
Pros: The desk staff was great.
Cons: Cleanliness and wifi.
Location: The hotel is mostly used by fracking crews, so I guess its a great place to frack.
I've been staying here fairly often since the fire, and despite making a valiant effort to save the place, Red Lion is starting to falter here. Sticky carpets, stained furniture, absolutely worthless wifi.
