Upgrades neededPosted Apr 7, 2014
Cons: Rooms and bathrooms too old
Location: Logistics too far from everything, but this comment applies to the area in general. You need drive 20-30min to any place, nothing walking distance
In need of room remodeling, the beds were old and too hard, the bathroom looked like from the seventies. Some remodeling and more guest activities are definitely needed.

Good IF you are a college student on Spring BreakPosted Mar 18, 2014
Pros: Food and pool was nice.
Cons: Room accommodations and fulfillment of guest requests.
Location: The hotel is located in a very remote location from everything. You can take tours but they are long travel trips from the hotel. Hotel has nothing
My Expedia reservation was not at the hotel when I checked in. I had to forward a copy via email of my Expedia confirmation. When I got to the room I was shocked! Very "Low Rent" dirty, and antiquated. 19" CRT TV, remote control didn't work; bathroom was scummy and dirty and only had 2 towels, and only 2 water glasses, four of us in the room, my wife, my two children, 9 and 2. I ordered more towels, Never got them, I also requested a coffee maker that was suppose to be included in the room, never got one. The AC worked but the wall unit had no vent louvers so the air just blasted out of the bottom. The room door wouldn't lock, maintenance came and fooled around with it and got it working. I was a bit disappointed by this time but not much I could do. The hotel was packed with college kids from Canada. They were drinking the free booze like it was water, they were so drunk they were trying to pick up my wife at the pool. Besides the bad accommodations, the pool was nice and the food was above average. The staff was friendly but never followed through on their promises. I'll never go back there, even after it is renovated. I heard that it is suppose to be renovated in a couple months. The beach also was horrible, black sand, so hot no one wanted to go near it. I am very disappointed because the hotel falsely shows photos of "Superior Room Ocean View" with ornate concrete balcony. But I couldn't find any rooms that had this type of balcony. Very misleading and false info.

Run down and loudPosted Mar 16, 2014
Inexpensive for an all inclusive but still not worth the money. Room was clean but very old looking and run down - reminded me of many hostel rooms I have stayed in. There two nights and could not imagine staying more. Advertised on expedia as two queen beds but was in fact two double. Pool was very warm and had plastic cups and lots of dirt in it. Very loud music and young loud crowd by the pool. It your looking for a party hotel this is the place. I was not as we were traveling with two young kids. Positives - view from our room of the ocean was georgious, black sand beach was beautiful and we loved seeing the iguanas and monkeys in the beach in the morning. Also fishing trip we took was great. The positives could be had in many other Costa Rican hotels though - stay somewhere else!

Surprising Beautiful Black Sand BeachPosted Feb 18, 2014
Cons: The hotel beds, the sheets, the blankets, the pillows - redo all of it. Update the rooms!
The hotel property is a beautiful hilly landscape that is tucked far away from town. Bring hiking shoes. They have a shuttle that will take u around the property too running 24hrs a day on demand via a phone at a shuttle stop. Hotel is situated Maybe 15 miles from the main road. There's nothing around the hotel as far as shops or tourist attractions. Good thing it's all inclusive! The hotel staff is extremely polite, helped us with bags, and were always there to take care. The rooms are not similar to American standard hotel rooms. Beds are small, pillows are uncomfortable, and the room is outdated. I can't blame them for the bugs everywhere as Costa Rica is filled with them. Expect a hotel room that you will stay in it long enough to sleep and then be out all day. They have a great pool and pool area, a swim up bar where the drinks are strong, lounge areas galore, and pool tables, even 2 hot tubs. They have a gorgeous black sand beach that is basically all their own and it's amazing!!! Hard to think that just the next beach over is pure white sand and the next after that is all broken coral. Awesome! Kid friendly and don't have to worry about them getting into trouble. Kayaks are free to rent. Showers to/from beach area.

Wildlife friendly and great staff.Posted Feb 2, 2014
Pros: staff, proximity to the water, pool, entertainment.
Cons: Nothing. It was perfect.
Location: Lots of nearby excursions if you want to leave the resort. We felt very safe and comfortable at the resort and off.
Spent a week at this wonderful all inclusive resort. There were white faced monkeys by the water, howler monkeys near the reception, iguanas were out and about during the day and birds and raccoons at night. Staff was wonderful and accommodating, lots of activities on site (no. Cost) and several on site personnel for excursions. ATV tour was awesome, Coco beach trip beautiful and mango daiquiris at zi were delicious. Take the boat trip to Palo Verde National Park, monkeys, crocodiles, herons, iguanas, bats, lizards, and Jesus lizards. Food and beverage were very good. A perfect vacation. We will be back soon.

Good vacationPosted Jan 31, 2014
I had a good time, food was good, but at dinner they lack of more choices for little kids in the buffet. The room was good, but being 6'4" the bed was a little short. The place is beautiful, we saw iguanas, racoons and monkeys at the pool, waiting for us to give them food.

Don't bother with this placePosted Jan 31, 2014
Not a nice place, although I guess you could say you get what you pay for. Overbooked, extremely uncomfortable beds, no crib available for my baby, food was mediocre, funky smell in room. Only plus for us was beach was kid friendly, water was calm, shallow & warm. Staff was friendly. Drinks had minimal alcohol. We booked a 9 night all inclusive stay & left after 1 night. Hotel just is old & am mentors are the same...old, in disarray unkempt. Forget wifi, it's impossible to get & keep a connection.found another resort about an hour south that was fabulous!

Pros: The area, view, food.
Cons: We heard you are going to update some of the rooms. The bathroom definitely needs some help
Location: Because we were traveling the whole country, we came to relax. We watched the monkeys down by the beach and just enjoyed being quiet. We are retired
We have been to your hotel four times. Never have we had things and did not work in the room and bathroom. We asked for a "plug" for the bathroom sink, but never got one. We were traveling for one month and needed to wash some items. The room ceiling fan made such a noise we could not use it at night. It sounded like it would fly away at any moment.
