The bathroom had a really bad stink in it. The rug in the room was soaked from the air conditioner. The ice machines were all out of order, the hot tube was out of order, the room key cards worked sometimes.

Pros: The staff were pleasant :)
Cons: Very out-dated. Needs to be cleaned and renovated.
Location: Lots of shopping near by.
The staff was accomodating and moved us to a cleaner room. The rooms upstair are much cleaner. The smell in the halls are very bad. I would not stay here again.

OK for visiting Halifax & Dartmouth

Cons: BREAKFAST & Room set-up - remove unused drawers and provide a table /chairs and suitcase holders.
Location: Easy access to highways - Eastern Shore / Fisherman's Cove with local artist and Halifax - lots of Timmys & Coras for Breakfast.
The FULL, complimentary breakfast was a big disappointment. We are two senior ladies looking for healthy meals - each morning the "FREE" breakfast was pancakes ( probably made with WHITE flour) and pancake syrup! Really good for a sugar kick - but not a healthy choice for a diabetic or for seniors, OR anyone!! The bread for toast was a very spongy, cheap brand. How difficult would it have been to plan some hot oatmeal/ raisins / blueberries ( instead of Fruit loops) and have on hand individual yogurt cups? I kept checking for scrambled eggs / sausages/ ham - healthy cereal choices / fruit - never appeared. The room could have slept 4 adults BUT room had ONE chair! REALLY! The long, low bureau with drawers needs to be taken OUT, replaced with a little table and chairs and TV flat screen mounted on wall! A fridge was available - on request, but where would they put it - things were too cramped for another chair! Plus this was an "ACCESSIBLE" ROOM - WHERE WOULD A WHEEL CHAIR FIT?? Also no suitcase holders were available - so suitcase had to be constantly closed and put on floor - then lifted up to bed each time clothing change was desired. Little improvements could provide more comfort to a customer's stay. A little table & chair - one can't always be on the bed!! Accessible bathroom was good - high toilet, easy access shower and lots of space to move about. Location was quiet - not near any walking destination though.

Comfortable hotel close to shopping malls

Pros: Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean.
Cons: More fresh wash cloths and hand towels if the guests are staying more than one night.
Location: Tim Hortons nearby and close to Circumferential Highway which takes you to nearby shopping plazas.
No wifi as advertised. No extra face cloths and hand towels and we stayed 2days and 2 nights. Did not know about a $50 damage deposit until we showed up and we were a little taken aback.

Hotel handy for shopping

Nice hotel close to shopping centres. Very quiet at nite. However the ice machine and hot tub were not working. Pool was very clean. Next to hotel is a pizza place doesn't look like much but it was awesome must try it. We ate there twice. It was called Alexandria's.

Horrible! Do not stay here

Pros: Absolutely nothing! Even the refurbished rooms were not good. Ground floor was smelly and dirty and the bathrooms and rooms were not clean.
Cons: Everything needs improvement.. From room cleanliness to the horrible breakfast. You should have disposable plates and cutlery. It is so gross.
Location: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Does not look like a good neighbourhood.
We just returned from here. Expedia had lovely pictures of the hotel. Turned out to be a nightmare. Kids refused to stay here. The rooms looked dark and dusty. The hallways were smelly. The breakfast was terrible. We had to stand for a long time till plates arrived. They were dirty gross plates. You should at least have disposable plates. The waitress had to serve coffee or tea and her priority was to the customers buying the five dollar breakfast. Event he refurbished rooms were not up to standard. We also stayed in days inn Sydney, and that was worse than this, thought the breakfast there was better.. I will not recommend The days Inn chain of hotels to anyone.

Pros: not much of anything to be honest
Cons: Staff and conditions of the hotel
Location: there are a lot of things to do and you are close to most everything in Dartmouth
the breakfast was a very poor set up , people had to wait for food to be brought out their was a young lady going around with coffee and you had your breakfast almost gone by the time you got your coffee and they never asked what type of coffee we wanted ( decaf ) we went out for lunch the 3 day we were their and when we came back we had ants all over the counter when we call the front desk the young girl really did not know what to do she was half expecting for us to stay in that room that night . So finally she decided to move us to another room and that room was on the second floor with no elevator we had to carry 4 big suitcases up the steers and I have 3 blockages . we got that done and I asked the young girl to tell the manager that I would like to see him first thing in the morning and the next morning I had to go to see him and when I asked if he knew what problems I had he never knew a thing just nothing was passed on to him so he said . The manager gave us a night free but just the way we were treated first thing the manager said to me when I explained to him what happened he said it was that time of the year and those things happen not a very good answer for someone who is on vacation trying to enjoy our vacation time. We are still in Dartmouth on vacation but we are staying at another hotel ( Travelodge ) we are sorry we never booked here first .

Days Inn Dartmouth

Pros: Staff was very friendly.
Cons: Cleanliness. The hallways were dirty and had an odour. The room itself had holes in the wall.
Location: Shopping is nearby, and easy access to the bridges to get into Halifax.
The parking and lobby are accessible, and the front desk staff are excellent, both competent and friendly. Unfortunately, the room itself was lacking, as there were stains & holes in the walls, and the ice-maker was out of order. I wasn't expecting a lot out of the hotel, but I was expecting more. The hallways had an unpleasant odour, and the overall impression was that of an out-of-the way roadside motel in the middle of nowhere, not a competitive hotel in a prosperous, busy environment.

Hotel run down, lots of better ones in the area. Staff friendly enough. Air conditioning kept cutting out in the night no matter how low temp was set. Room was older but very clean.Breakfast was good, eggs and bacon in the am

Would not stay here again

This hotel is very dated. The beds sagged and the room was dreary. You could hear people coming and going starting at 4:30 am. The buffet breakfast was good.
