Phuttachot Resort Phi Phi - not a resortPosted Nov 13, 2011 on Hotels.com
The hotel pictures are very nice in the website but reality is other, it is located in the edge of town towards the mountain where all the locals live, walking out from the hotel there is a line of motorbikes and small cars lined as they cannot be used inside the tourist areas. The smell going to the hotel and back, no matter which street you are taking, is awful. The neighborhood is not the best one and the view is only of the mountain, there is a lot of vegetation around so it is full of insects, the only plus side is that is quiet as it is far away from all the hassle from the town.

No TransfersPosted Oct 9, 2011 on Hotels.com
In this instance, you get what you pay for. Pay a little extra for somewhere closer to the main pier on Phi Phi. You are promised transfers to and from the hotel on the website but this is not true - 15-20 minute walk from the pier. If it is hot and you have big bags, this is not fun. Although there is no transport on Phi Phi you can pay a man 30 baht per bag to take your bags to the hotel in a push cart. Hotel in itself is not too bad, if the surrounding area was cleaned up a bit and there was a paved path from the road it may have got higher marks (didn't like dragging my suitcase through mud to get to the hotel). All in all, I wouldn't recommend this hotel and wouldn't stay again.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!Posted Mar 19, 2011 on Hotels.com
This place is not a hotel. I can't even believe its listed on hotels.com. Waaaaaaay out of the way from the main village and you have to walk by what is called "poo garden" to get there. No joke! What they call a shower is handle on the wall of the bathroom right next to the toilet. No drain, no curtain, not any kind of divider between toilet and "shower". They don't even provide soap in the bathroom, absolutely disgusting. It's more like a really bad hostel that we should have paid ten bucks a night for max. Spend a few extra bucks and stay somewhere else. Avoid this place at all costs.

Too near to a Water Waste Treatment FacitilyPosted May 5, 2010
Although the hotel manager was very polite and helpful, the hotel is too near to a Water Waste Treatment Facility, and the smell gets to the room. The neighborhood is not nice. The room was ok but the Air Conditionin didn't cool... they should change the cooling gas or something.

Great View, Quiet Location, but no extrasPosted Nov 18, 2009
The hotel was about a 10-15 minute walk to the beach, which turned out to be fantastic! As soon as the sun goes down, the entire beach turns into one great big party until sun up! Even as far as we were, we could faintly hear the music. Had we stayed any closer to the beach, i'm not sure we would have been able to get any sleep at all. The rooms were clean, however they do not provide any room service or maid services. The price is fantastic compared to other beach side hotels on the island. There was also an amazing view from our second floor balcony. Would definitly stay at this hotel again!
