Hotel Libava: a bizarre and frustrating experience

I have a thoroughly bizarre and stressful stay at this hotel. I checked in at 2pm. Nothing worked – TV, wifi, heating.... I couldn’t put food and drink from the restaurant on my room bill. At 11.45pm, the receptionist put the phone down on my friend in the UK when he phoned reception for me, saying I wasn't there (there are only six rooms!). I was told at 12.30am, ten and a half hours after check-in, that I wasn’t actually meant to be staying there. I was supposed to have been moved to another hotel and even have a free meal at the Libava restaurant. I’d been informed of this by email the day before arrival, but I hadn’t seen the email as I’d already started travelling. Why wait over ten hours after check in to tell me this? In fact, the receptionist only told me after I said I felt like walking out! I emailed the hotel the day after I checked out. I waited 8 days for a response. They only responded after I emailed again. They said they apologised for my “inconvenience”. OK, but what I really wanted was an explanation of why I spent a night in a hotel I wasn’t supposed to stay at! I still don’t understand it!
