Fantastic location, nicely updatedPosted Oct 7, 2014
Pros: On the beach, restaurants and stores within walking distance, condo was updated, staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: One more comfy chair on the balcony
Wonderful stay in unit 305. The view is gorgeous, watched the sunset from our balcony every night (could use one more padded chair so we both could sit comfortably, but that is splitting hairs). Unit was nicely updated, lots of books, games and a kitchen with everything you need. Loads of restaurants, stores, etc across the street. It was a great place to stay in paradise.

Beautiful viewsPosted Sep 26, 2014
Cons: Fans in the main area. It was unusually hot in late September and the only way to be cool was to be outside or in the bedroom. Air circulation is not.
Lovely condo with oceanfront views, terrific pool, great beach and located within waling distance to great restaurants!

Great place beach front accessPosted Aug 25, 2014
Great place to go if you are looking for an apartment to use for a week or so. Limited services (towels changed 4 times in our 7 day stay) but no other real cleaning provided and was not needed anyway. Kitchen came fully stocked and we were able to make breakfast there everyday and even cooked dinner a couple of nights on the BBQ's that are available to everyone and there was more then enough plates, glasses, utensils ect for at least 6 people. AC unit is mounted in the bedroom only but was actually a nice touch as it gave us a place to cool down in when we needed to while the rest of the unit was nice and hot. Amazing direct beach front hotel, you walk right off of the property and on to the beach no needing to cross a road. Lots of good places to eat and a couple of grocery stores in easy access to the hotel.

HoneymoonPosted Jul 29, 2014
Lets start with the location. Hale Pau Hana is steps away from a gorgeous beach. There is a small reef right off the shore that my husband and I snorkeled over. We got to see many types of fish, crabs, a sting ray and a sea turtle.more wildlife than we saw out on the Pride of Maui!! The condo we stayed in was gorgeous and had every utensil you could possibly need. We were on the 6th floor and had a wonderful view of the sunset. The staff at Hale Pau Hana were friendly and efficient. After a long morning out on a boat snorkeling all we wanted to do was get home and shower but we were out of clean towels. Called the office and they sent someone up within 5 minutes. We felt welcomed and lucky because we got to take part in a birthday luau for one of the guests/condo owners. So much fun! The price is completely reasonable for the location. We looked at hotels and would have paid double for the amount of space we got at Hale Pau Hana. Thank you so much for making our honeymoon so memorable! If I ever get back to maui I will for sure be staying at your resort again!

Nice condos right on the beach.Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Beautiful setting, right on the beach and wonderful sunsets. Large rooms and plenty of amenities to make yourself at home.
Cons: Air conditioning and housekeeping (noted above).
Location: Centralized location on Maui, with the beach, luaus, snorkeling, dinner cruises, Haleakala, surfing, and road to Hana.
Nice stay overall and great setting. I would stay again. Some items of note though, air conditioning only for bedroom not for the rest of the condo, which was tough to get used to as the afternoon sun heated up the condo tremendously. Also, indicates daily housekeeping, but actually only change of towels and garbage for Mon, Wed & Fri. Not a significant problem, just need to plan accordingly.

GoodPosted Jun 21, 2014
Pros: The location was great, free WI FI is always nice.
Cons: Please see notes in the Experience section.
Location: That was also a plus, lots to do and very nice restaurants.
The overall stay was good. The furniture needs upgrade; the wicker sofa kept rolling away it was difficult to sit and relax without it rolling away. The bathroom was a lot smaller than we would have liked; although the shower was spacious. We noticed the air conditioner was leaking water, for the duration of our stay. We did however report it upon check-out. We were told that the maintenance staff had noted this as they make rounds. I don't think they did this week otherwise it would have been noted.

JUST THE PLACE WE WANTED :)Posted Jun 18, 2014
Pros: Cleanliness, convenience, friendly staff.
Location: Convenience of everything nearby. Only about 15-20 min from airport.
This place was amazing! Very cozy condo. Well maintained grounds. Beachfront with convenience of shops and restaurants across the street. Pool was warm and cleaned daily. Perfect place for a relaxing vacay for us. We would definitely stay here again.

Blissful!Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: Convenience of location. Thought put into the needed items in the rooms. Hawaiian decor.
Cons: Nothing! We loved it!
Location: Everything you'll need is within walking distance. Cafe O' Lei is a gem... Looks run-of-the mill from the outside, it's fantastic!
From the second we opened the door to the moment we closed it to leave, we were fully impressed with this hotel. The view from the lanai was so beautiful and the sound of the ocean was so relaxing, what's not to love?! It's conveniently located across from a mini mall that has everything you'll need (groceries, restaurants, souvenirs, ice cream, coffee) although I'd recommend the Safeway or Fooodmart grocery stores nearby as the prices in the general store are pretty steep. (The hotel key room also has a discount card for the Foodland) The hotel itself had everything a tourist would need, to include: beach chairs and towels, a cooler, umbrellas, kitchen dishes and utensils, spices for cooking, wireless access, DVDs, a laundry basket, even a bathroom scale to keep those vacation pounds in check! The common area of the room is not air conditioned but opening the windows is much better and there are window units in the bedrooms for sleeping. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The beach area and lawn chairs were pristinely maintained. Laundry facilities were well maintained and useful.

Perfect beach!Posted Jun 10, 2014
Pros: The beach! Best beach hotel I've ever stayed in! And EVERY room has a full view of the beach! AND, you don't have to pay to park your rental car!
Cons: Update the furnishings, fix the elevator and install air conditioning in the rooms.
Location: Nothing on Maui is very far so all of the sights we wanted to see were easily accessible.
We spent 5 nights at the Hale Pau Hana Resort in Kehei, Maui. While I wouldn't really classify it as a "resort", we enjoyed our stay nonetheless. The best thing about it is the beach. It's GORGEOUS! Plenty of chaise lounges on a nice grassy area just above the beautiful sandy beach. During our stay the elevator was not working so we had to climb stairs to the 6th floor...good exercise but really inconvenient when it came time to carry luggage down. Staff helped us to get it up to the room but we left earlier than the office opened so no staff was available at our departure. The furnishings are adequate, although a little dated. It could definitely use a little design help! We like to stay in rooms with full kitchens so we can save money and eat in occasionally so this worked out well for us. Coming from Phoenix, where we're used to air conditioning, it was a bit surprising that there was only a small A/C unit in the bedroom. Even with both front & back doors open for air flow, afternoons could get pretty toasty in the living room & kitchen.
