Terrible hotel

Posted Sep 2, 2014
The room smells bad, there is no AC, the bathroom was dirty, way too expensive for a really bad place. I'm used to stay at hostels, and his hotel was much worse than every hostel I've already stayed.

There are better motels in North Monterey

Posted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: Not much.
Cons: The room condition and honoring Expedia's prepaid procedure.
Location: There are better motels along Fremont Street. In this traveller's experience, chain motels are better than privately-owned motels.
The room was shabby (paint and curtains), the hot and cold water taps in the bathroom sink were reversed and one of them hardly worked, and not all of the lamps worked. The reservation was supposed to be prepaid through Expedia, but the clerk required that I pay by credit card upon check-in. I'm checking with Expedia to be sure I don't get double-billed.

Stay Away!!!

Posted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: Pros: 1. Cheaper than most motels/hotels by $50 or so $ 2. Close to CVS and Dennys 3. Some what clean That's all folks!
Cons: Everything
Location: Dennys is near by to eat, service is a little slow there though.
I'm still up at 2:30 in the morning. Pros: 1. Cheaper than most motels/hotels by $50 or so $ 2. Close to CVS and Dennys 3. Some what clean That's all folks! Cons: 1. Internet is SO SLOW! My phone is faster 2. There is no pressure in the shower 3. There was music playing nearby until 1:30 am on a Sunday night 4. When your neighbors phone vibrates, you hear it on your side of the room 5. The ice machine that is outside decides to come on at 2 am 6. Paper thin walls 7. Shared parking with a restaurant 8. Microwave's plug was too short to plug in, it has to be moved every time you want to use it 9. There is a sofa blocking the closet 10. A light had to be plugged in around a wall 11. The fridge is on more than it needs to be, when it stops I hear a "boeing" 12. You hear every car that passes on Fremont Street 13. There is a X X X place across the street 14. We have a Phantom light. Every time you push it on, it turns off by itself 15. There is a little hole in the wall, looks like mice can fit nicely through them 16. Not enough pillows 17. Carpet feels really dirty and grimy I'm pretty sure there are more cons but I have to try to get some sleep, it's now 2:50 am and that ice machine is still on. Come stay here if you can sleep through any thing, like an earth quake or a car slamming into your house. If you do end up here, bring some sleeping pills, you'll thank me. Find another place, don't penny pinch your much needed sleep. Good night!

I can't believe I had to pay $200 for this room.

Posted Aug 10, 2014
There was black mold on the shower curtain and it looked like Freddy Kruger slashed through the inside of it. There was no trash can anywhere in the room. My family didn't even feel comfortable sleeping underneath the covers. So angry I wasted $200. Expedia should remove them from their website.

Cute and comfortable

Posted Jul 28, 2014
I stayed in monetary for the night to visit my boyfriend! The room was really tiny but for the price it was a lot better than I had expected. I definitely recommend this hotel especially for 1-2 people. It was nice and cozy and perfect for the night. My only reccomendation is that you BYOB (bring your own blanket)

i wasn't expecting anything fancy for the price and i didn't get it. seems like a fine place, no problems with service or anything, and the wifi worked, good location. bed wasnt like luxurious or anything but it didnt kill my back either. pretty decent-sized room. i dont have much to say for the upkeep, though; there were patches on the wall if you care about that (i didnt), but more interestingly, someone else's oversized shorts and boxers were still hanging in our closet. that was awkward.

One thing after another.....

Posted May 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
One thing after another pretty much sums up our stay at the Casa Verde Inn. The owner spoke little, to no english. Upon our arrival he scolded us for parking in the hotel parking lot, then realized we were checking in and then began rushing around realizing he didn't have a room ready for us. We are very easy going as assured him it wasnt a huge deal. After a few minutes he led us to a decent size room where he tried to explain that the tv in our room didnt work and that he was having someome come out to fix it. Again, we told him it wasn't a big deal. We were in town for a concert and weren't planning on sitting in the room much anyways. We decided to get cleaned up and head over to the concert. Upon leaving our room we found that our door wouldn't lock. After a few minutes of trying to get it to shut we went to the front desk. The owner looked at us like we were crazy and then followed us to our room. He too was unable to get it to lock. He tried to assure us that he would watch our bellongings but we weren't having it. So we loaded all of our luggage back into our car and headed off. While the manager said he was going to fix it. We went and ran a few errands and grabbed some food and went back to the hotel to find our door fixed but now there was a Comcast Cable service man in our room. Apparently he was there to fix the broken TV. After about twenty minutes of this poor guy walking in and out making phone calls and being extremely appologetic we had had enough. We had a concert to go to and this was just ridiculous. So we told the Comcast guy we werent worried about the TV but that we needes to leave. He understood and asked of we would tell the owner that because he was being persistent about the TV. We again went to the front desk and told him that we weren't comfortable having someone in our room with our belongings. We explained again that we were fine having no TV. In the end we were able to lock up the room, and it is right across the street from the Monterey Fair grounds. So location wise it's great. Otherwise the place is a dump. Don't waste your money.
