Perfect locationPosted Jan 13, 2015
Pros: Location was beautiful on the lake, and Free shuttle to airport
Cons: Renovated rooms- Grounds could use flowers or something. All needs updating.
Location: Excellent - easy walk to downtown restaurants and stores.
Our room was clean, and the bed was comfortable, but we probably would not return unless we were told the place had been renovated. Very sad - because the location is absolutely beautiful on the lake, easy walk to downtown to restaurants and stores. No need for a car. Free shuttle service to Sanford airport. BUT Hotel was old, and the grounds were not maintained. The curtain rod was bent and drapes were askew. Windows very old. Need of paint and trim. TV had issues. Restaurant was closed. We also happened to be in a section where they had a lot of "permanent residents" hanging out of their rooms smoking, talking, drinking beer, etc. Not a "comfy cozy feeling.

Monroe's On The LakePosted Jan 8, 2015
Pros: The service was very prompt.
Location: The location was close to the Sanford airport which is why I chose this hotel.
The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was great! Everybody went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable..to include the shuttle driver.

Not very cleanPosted Jan 3, 2015
Hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. We were there less than 12 hours with our family to catch an early plane out of Sanford. Room cleanliness was very sub-par. The curtain didn't keep out the light and the AC unit was very noisy. However the motel was booked and it may have been thier last room available.

Pros: close to airport
Cons: exterminator...cleaner floors
Location: Sunday night arrival streets were rolled up...NO ONE on the streets...nothing open
Hard to sleep when you see gnats crawling across sink and in bedding...hardwood floors dirty...old equipment...TV, AC, phone....adjoining room door could be opened by other side but blocked with armoire in one room and desk in another...knew people in other room but if I hadn't would have been creepy. Town looked quite desolate approaching...not a warm and fuzzy feel when you don't see anyone on the streets

Poor experiencePosted Dec 6, 2014
Hotel is in very poor condition. I was traveling alone and although in a great location, I did not feel comfortable to walk to the downtown. It was empty! And once there understood why. Please do not recommend this hotel! Make a visit before listing it again.

NO NO NO!Posted Nov 28, 2014
Pros: It is a block or two away from a small downtown area with plenty of places to eat.
Terrible experience. This is a MOTEL. Run down. The pictures must be from when the place was first built/opened. The pool looked disgusting, dirty, a film on top, inside must be painted cement with chunks of paint chipping away. The room was gross. Hard tile floors that you can tell they basically sweep or swiffer the main areas because the corners, behind the bed, etc. was all dusty. If you walk around bare foot you will see the filth wash off your feet in the shower. THE SHOWER - I am 5'6 and I was eye level with the shower head which comes out like a faucet you have to stand directly underneath it, takes forever to warm up. There was a tooth brush stuck down the sink drain which didnt even have a cover on it, it was just an open drain. Towels were thin and pilly. There were all little nats in our sheets. The temperature is terrible, there is an old floor based AC unit which is LOUD and the trickle of air that comes out is barely cold. Paper thin walls, I heard my neighbors snoring like a truck. The kicker - there was a web cam mounted to the TV!!!!!!!!!!!! We checked right out and I will be contacting expedia for a refund. Completely overpriced, I guess you pay for the view of the lake, which was nice as long as you dont want to be comfortable or clean.

The hotel is in a nice location on the lake. The rooms are non smoking and they smell like someone is smoking in them all the time due to people smoking outside the rooms. Hotel needs some work, pool was nice, but no other amenities. Washer and dryer are old and they are outside and only one of each. I was very disappointed with my one night stay.

Dirty and noise motelPosted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Is right on the lake
Cons: Do a better housecleaner, not allow dogs would be great
Smoke smell, dirty room and during the night I couldn't sleep because of has a dog and some room barking from 3:56 am to 5:48 and nobody was in the reception. No breakfast served on the hotel, but my reservation said that was and the next day they changed the room and my second night was better but the room had also smoke smell and I just wanted to go home.
