Filthy! Bugs! Rude!Posted Feb 28, 2015
Cons: Remodel the rooms. New mattresses. HAVE AN EXTERMINATOR COME OUT ONCE A WEEK. Filter the pool better. Provide room info, i.e. how to get fresh sheets.
Location: Palm Springs is not a very friendly place to visit. We met a few nice folks- Cowboy way (BBQ) & the owner of JJ's (mexican food) was GREAT.
We stayed at this hotel for 7 days and things progressively got worse as the days went on. I'll start from the end and work backwards: On our last night we found the BIGGEST COCKROACH we've EVER seen. The front desk didn't seem surprised at all. They told us that it "probably just got in" and would move us to another room. I informed them that we had no plans to stay and we were checking out. The desk clerk refused to check us out so we left the keys in the room and left. Our last day at the pool was discouraging. The water was absolutely filthy with a layer of grease and dead bugs floating on top. We had a lot of pool time on this trip and occasionally noticed some film, but not nearly this bad. Throughout our stay the desk clerks were rude right from check in. Every small interaction seemed to be a bother, from check-in to buying sundries. The cleaning staff was very polite, however, we noticed the shower curtain was completely filthy and they never changed the sheets on the bed. We had gone to the beach and got some sand in the bed. We removed the sheets so the staff knew to replace them. When we got into bed that night it was still full of sand. Right from the start the hotel doesn't appear any where close to it's appearance on the Expedia website. The photos on the site show private balconies in the rooms, but over 80% of the rooms are ground level with patios accessible to anyone. Another guest actually walked into our room one day. Unsafe. Beyond disappointed.

They gave us the worst room because ....Posted Feb 23, 2015
Cons: The staff didn't even try to look up if any decent room was available. As soon as they saw that we booked thru Expedia we were given the worst room.
If you book through Expedia they give you the worst room. The room smelled bad. The bathroom was outdated and poorly lit, shower stall was tiny, no tub. Plumbing issues with the toilet, which explains the smell of the room. The toilet won't flush properly, clogged a lot,It must have overflowed before which explains the nasty smell in the room.. The toilet clogged the first morning we were there. Maintenance crew does not come in until 9a so we had to wait for the maintenance person for almost an hour to fix the toilet so that we can resume using the bathroom. I requested to be moved to another room but they declined. I requested a room by the pool and they declined, they said since I booked through Expedia they have to give me a room in the back building. There were nails in the parking lot, I must have driven over one and therefore one of my tires got flat as soon as I got home.

Keep searchingPosted Feb 6, 2015
Room smelled of cigarette smoke "non smoking". Room looked nothing like the online photos. Outdated tube tv. Dark shower. Dingy sheets and drapes. The room didn't even have an iron or ironing board. Slinging glass doors open right up to the parking lot.

Great value and good locationPosted Feb 1, 2015
Pros: It's clean and a good price and, when the weather is hot, their pool is one of the biggest in town. Rooms newly painted, bathroom is modern.
Cons: I would recommend new drapes and carpet next. And I'd train the desk clerks to get to know the area attractions.
Location: Palm Springs is magical: its nearby hiking trails (especially Indian Canyons and Joshua Tree) are gorgeous! The Art Museum is urban worthy--wow!
I have been staying at this modest hotel for 20-some years, whenever in Palm Springs. Still, the place is convenient and has a computer/printer visitors can use, along with free local calls. This stay was a little disappointing due to some of the changes made -- including no breakfast voucher for the adjacent diner, Rick's, & no decent restaurant guide or map or cultural schedule in the room. The proprietor does not seem to know a lot about the area, so count on doing your research/preparations for exploring and enjoying the area.

Bad staffPosted Jan 2, 2015
Had two rooms because the said we could get co-joining rooms when we Mattl made reservations. Staff said they did not have them when we arrived. They tried to separate our rooms and then gave us rooms next to each other but not co-joining. Will not use days inn our expedia again due to this.

Needs to be updatedPosted Dec 29, 2014
The location is very nice, but once you get in the rooms, you can see where more money needs to be used on updating the furniture and rooms themselves. Bathroom was very small, no water pressure. It was difficult to brush your teeth!
