Budgetel River Inn is closing this monthPosted Jan 11, 2015
Pros: I love that way the Budgetel River Inn was designed. The manager and staff were very friendly and helpful on my first stay and my other stays as well.
Cons: Hopefully whomever buys the property will keep the Budgetel River Inn as it is. It only needs maintenance work done on it, as it had recently been ren
Location: The location is in Redding California. Since I always went on a business trip, I never got a chance to explore the area and discover things to do.
I love this particular Inn: however, it will be closing at the end of this month. Whenever I have to go to Redding for a job interview, I have always stayed at this Inn. I'm just glad I was able to stay at it one more time before it closes it's doors. I am sad to hear that it will be closing as I have told my family and friends that if I were to ever get a job in Redding, that they had to stay at least one day at Budgetel River Inn.

We've stayed before, would stay again.Posted Nov 29, 2014
It's a dump, but clean and safe. The front desk peeps are a riot and worth the $50 a night to just enjoy them. The bed was comfy and clean. No soap, missing half the lightbulbs in the room, bathroom fan is a rattle trap- but the bathroom was recently upgraded to tile with a nice tub. For $50, it's a deal. I'll stay there next year too on my trip.

Dirty & nastyPosted Apr 28, 2014
Worse hotel I have ever stayed in there was a note on the door at the lobby said be back n hour. The lobby was locked with nobody inside. Couldn't check in to my room. Really scummie hotel with people living in the rooms. No river view like the picture showed online. Very randown dirty place.

The picture and hotel blurb lied!Posted Dec 5, 2013
After arriving to the hotel I went to the check in area. In the lobby there were multiple homeless people being served food. This would not have bothered me but it turned out that these folks actually lived in rooms off of the back of the hotel. There were cars being worked on, trash everywhere and that was just the start. Walking to locate our room we came across the so called hot tub. It was boarded up and in terrible disrepair. Our room was awful! Dirty carpet, an awful smell and just a very unsafe feeling. We decided to leave right away. The person at the front desk graciously refunded our money.

Perfect for our needs, pet friendly!Posted Nov 19, 2013
Pros: PRICE, PET FRIENDLY, FRIENDLY STAFF, LOCATION, AMENITIES: TV, MICROWAVE,REFRIG.,COFFEEMKR.COMFORTABLE BEDS.
Cons: Landscaping in front and around hotel rooms. First impressions mean a lot! Curb appeal is important to any business.
Location: Easy access to freeways,Tourist attractions, Downtown, Shops and Restaurants, Malls and Hospital.
My husband and I have stayed here several times over the past 7 or 8 years. We love the location, close to town, close to freeways and Malls, Hospital, and our favorite Restaurants. We are 60-70+ yrs. and we come to the area to visit my family who live here, so we do not spend much time in the room, just to sleep, and the beds have been clean and comfortable. The hotel has been in a state of continuous repair and remodel from our first visit yrs. ago, but because we have seen a slow continuous process of improvement this has not bothered us. The staff has always been friendly. We also realize the continental Breakfast is not ready when we arise usually 5-6 am. That is not a problem for us because the rooms are supplied with coffeemaker, microwave, refrig. we just bring some food with us and usually have leftovers from meals we can refrig. and reheat. The rooms are not as fancy as your modern hotels but we don't need that and we really like the price!

Quaint hotel on the Sacramento River.Posted Oct 4, 2013
Pros: Location and staff, as well as the uniqueness.
Across the road from the Sundial Bridge and Turtle Bay on the Sacramento River. Location excellent! On the same street as Aqua Golf, which is fun. We were fortunate and stayed in the older part of the complex - a Hexigon(?) shaped chateau right on the river.

Quiet Location Kept Me TherePosted Aug 23, 2013
Pros: It was Close to all of Redding and not on a heavily traffic street nor on the highway
Cons: It needs a good CLEANING......and a lot of Repairs but they appear to be trying to remodel
Location: Close to all Redding, CA recreation and Shopping....
This hotel was a complete disappointment as the photo's on the internet must have been taken many years ago. While they appear to be trying to remodel they have a long way to go. The only thing going for them is they are inexpensive and the place is quiet and the staff is nice.. There is no river view as the trees and bushes are greatly overgrown and so there is no view. There was a continental breakfast one of the three days I stayed and the non smoking rooms smelled of cigarette. The quiet and location along with the nice staff made the stay tolerable.

DO NOT EVER STAY HERE!Posted Jun 26, 2013
Pros: LEAVING IT!
Cons: EVERY THING. JUST BURN IT DOWN, BULL DOZE THE PLACE AND START OVER FROM SCRATCH..
Location: No. Someone might be tempted to stay here.
Its decrepetite. The advertised photo is for the main hotel. No Air conditions or restaurant as advertised. Hot tub under repairs. Leaks. Hotel house keeping staff made sheets 1 of 4 days. They did not have any extra towels. I asked for an extra hand towel. I was told no they don't have any extras.

Poor servicePosted Jun 4, 2013
Cons: Marginal accommodations.
We have two dogs so we called the hotel direct for our reservation. When we got there they knew nothing about it. Instead of a king bed we got a queen bed, same price. When we talked to the manager she stated that was all they had left. Room was really in rough shape. Hotel looked like it was from the 1970's. Would never stay here again.

Great pit stop - eat at déjà-vu for breakfast!Posted Apr 28, 2013
Pros: Affordable, hbo, pool
Cons: Air conditioner didn't go below 68 degrees!
Location: Adjacent to shell gas station, nice park really close on the Sacramento R. (feed the ducks and geese with a loaf of 99¢ bread) highway behind not loud
Driving for 12 hours from San Diego. King size $66 after fees. Pool looked alright, didn't use it though, nor did anyone else staying at the hotel. No hot tub Maybe 80 rooms and 20 occupants for the night. Quiet, direct tv hbo. Mini fridge...Left my last beer on accident! Hope this helped.
