Nice hotel that takes pets. Convenient to town.Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: Room was clean, large and hotel was relatively quiet.
Cons: Breakfast was expensive, service was slow, and food was not that good.
Location: Don't have any comment. Just needed a place to stay for the night and breakfast to get us going in the a.m.
Enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was a little pricey and not that good for what we paid. But hotel was nice and comfortable.

Nice roomPosted Jul 24, 2014
Hotel was nice. Had a very nice exercise room, small indoor pool, and slightly larger out door pool. We did not eat at restaurant so I have no comment about that other than it looked nice. Room was nice size, we had 2 queen beds. Everything was in good shape except the carpet in the room. I will tell you it didn't feel dirty because everything else looked so nice, but it seriously needed replaced. It probably had 12 different spots on it. Again didn't make us feel like it wasn't clean just looked bad. Can't say all rooms were like that either. There was a nice hardwood in room entry way. Bathroom was well done and updated. Room was comfortable and well decorated. Also we didn't hear lots of noise. We had a fridge, iron and ironing board in a closet. I would recommend this hotel. Hotel staff seemed friendly and helpful. It is also close to airport, downtown, several restaurants and mall. 1 min to interstate.

Nice hotel, but................Posted Jul 23, 2014
Hotel and staff were terrific, but the hotel is a magnet for huge numbers of teenage sports teams in town for various tournaments. Lots of late night (2am) running in the halls, loud laughter, and very poor oversight by accompanying adults. Not much sleep (but a $36 continental breakfast for two tab slapped us awake).

Loved it!Posted Jul 21, 2014
The staff was excited to be there, very helpful. The room was exquisitely beautiful and well stocked. I have been to more than one Sheraton, even this week, and I am hooked!

Stereotyped!Posted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: The restaurant
Cons: The attitudes of the staff.
Location: We only stayed overnight on a long trip, so we did not indulge in local fare.
We stayed overnight enroute to Williamsburg. Upon parking to check in, the hotel staff proved to be typical, majority of America. The hotel van service driver was exiting the building as we went in, I greeted him and didn't receive even a nod of a welcome. At the front desk, we inquired about the hotel's restaurant and was told it was "expensive" and we might want to check out the chain restaurants near the mall. We checked the menu in our room and found it funny that the clerk considered the prices expensive. The bellhop did not help us (a 10 year old boy , 67 year old and 44 year old women) with our bags, although he saw us taking them to our room. We later observed him taking bags up for other women and telling them all about the facility. We ate at the hotel's restaurant. The staff there was EXCELLENT! Thanks and recognition to the two Danielles (one of whom was working her first day) and our great waitress Chyenne (probably mispelled - apologies). The air conditioner in our room was so loud, we slept with it rather warm so we could get some sleep. To their credit, I will say this - the room was clean, the hotel is beautiful and the clerk at the front desk apologized upon check-out for the air. Big whoop!

Cons: Rude Pool security with tobacco in his mouth

Nice Hotel, rude pool security-it is so rude to talk to people with tobacco in your mouth, especially when you get extra close to their face .No one will take you serious!!!!!!

Sheraton Has Come A Long WayPosted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: Shula's Grill 347. Modern, functional decor. Technology-themed elements. Superbly comfortable beds.
Location: Roanake is home to Virginia Tech University. There are many outdoor activities to enjoy in the surrounding mountains. The hotel is close to shopping.
On our way home from a weekend camping trip in WV, my son and I decided to stop in Roanoke for a night to break up the drive, which felt especially long with our muscles sore from rock-climbing. Thanks to the Expedia app for iOS, we quickly found a reasonably-priced hotel that met our requirements: room service, Internet access, and an indoor pool. As a bonus, this hotel's restaurant was nothing less than Shula's Grill 347, one of the best steakhouses in the country! We booked the hotel with the Expedia mobile app. Check-in was smooth. As we made our way to our room, I noticed, as a techie, the names of the various rooms: Boolean, Mnemonic, and Pi. Appropriate for a hotel and conference center located near Virginia Tech, one of the best technical universities in the country. The hotel's decor was comfortably modern and functional, both in the common areas and in the room itself. The bed was superbly comfortable the shower/bath was large by hotel standards, and everything was well laid-out for either business or personal travel. Both the indoor and outdoor pools are a little small, but were uncrowded. The highlight, of course, was a room service from Shula's. That alone is worth a visit to this hotel if you are in the Roanake area!

Great stay!Posted Jun 24, 2014
Stopped there for a nights rest. Wish I could have stayed longer. Beautiful facility, comfortable room, great service. Only down side, no vending machines on the floors. Had to go down to store in lobby in my pajamas. Highly recommend.
