It's a beautiful hotel very elegant nothing is cheap about it. The furniture, the bathroom, the bed, the patio every thing was excellent quality. I love it I will definitely will come back.

Not terrible but not great eitherPosted Jun 29, 2013
Pros: quality of the food, lagoon
Cons: the internet connection, cleaning of the rooms
Location: go swimming on the resort, bar on the beach and some trails to walk on
When I first arrived my room/villa was super hot but the A/C was on and started bringing down the temp. During the evening however the air conditioner stopped working, they sent someone to try to fix it the next morning and when I came into the room it was hotter than ever so they moved me to another room which had mouse droppings in several spots which in 1 spot stayed there even though housekeeping came through daily (ac worked though)...So I tried to get on the internet and it wouldn't work, called the front desk and "someone was working on it". They told me the internet at the bar worked though so I could try there...kind of disappointing I have to go to the bar to get internet service...On the third day I came back and room was as hot as ever..apparently they were doing maintenance on the electricity on the resort so no electricity. Also on the amenities page it listed a separate "jetted tub" and "private pool" both of which do not exist. There is a pool for the entire resort so not private and there is only a shower, no tubs...On the positive side the food is great at the bar, the rooms are beautiful minus the mouse poop and the lagoon is nice...So if you can deal with inconveniences for the rate that is set then go for it, if not look elsewhere...

Great peoplePosted Apr 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
The people were great. The location was beautiful. It is a bit isolated, but that has its benefits. Not enough restaurant choices, but food was okay. Wait for food at Palapa was a bit too long at times. We used our very nice kitchen. The rooms were beautiful, but it is really a little more for couples unless you rent 2 of the rooms. Our kids had a great time.

The scenery is great and the room is very nice. The items described in the brochure were not all there; the second dining is not available, the spa is no longer there, the gift shop and grocery store are no longer there. The front desk personnel did not seem to know what they were doing. Most of the remotes in the room did not have batteries.

BeautifulPosted Aug 6, 2011 on Hotels.com
The Parrot Tree is spectacular and the rooms are beautiful. The front desk was helpful and the facility was amazing!!!! There are only two things we have to say, one is negative and the other is a suggestion. 1. Negative - the Palapa restaurant was very limited in its menu and the service was terrible. Since it is the only resturant open for lunch and dinner, we went to the grocery store and cooked ourselves. (the room had a beautiful kitchen fully equipped). We also went out to some fabulous restaurant where we saw lots of people from the Parrot tree. The one shinning star at the Palapa was Wilferd a fabulous waiter that really did try to help. The restaurant #2 that serves breakfast only was fabulous! The food and service was wonderful. 2. Suggestion - There is not a lot of information in the rooms about the island or events at the resort. You have to ask about everything. I highly suggest that you plan on renting a car for a few days to see the island and go to West Bay and do a lot of research before you get there. The frontdesk was very helpful but unfortunately we had to call a lot. Overall this resort is beautiful and we loved our room and the stay. The pool is exotic and romantic. The laguna is relaxing and beautiful. You will not reget your stay. You do need to rent a car to experience the West Bay where there is a lot of activities. We had a fabulous time!

Could be a wonderful resort, except all that is there is a bed to sleep in. You will need a car!!Posted Aug 5, 2011
Parrot Tree is quite an impressive land property with extravagent buildings, nice marina, and interesting lagoon. However, the amenity list is grossly over stated. Internet it the room was non-existent. You could pirate it from the lone restaurant/bar if your room was close enough to get a wi-fi signal and if the router was working properly. The Lagoon has potential, but is infested with jelly fish, soda bottles and all sorts of drainage pipes. Some wild fish do wonder thru and isn't bad snorkeling if you don't want to go in the sea, which is tremendously better, but inaccessible from the resort due to the see wall and marina. The breakfast buffet was not a buffet at all, rather a small dine-in restaurant, but you can only get one plate which is either eggs or fruit or bread, but forget about all three at once you will be paying out of pocket for more than one plate. The kayaking and other equipment on-site is for rental only and quite outrageous rates at that. If you want to scuba dive, forgot about it here there are no dive shops within kilometers, or even a shop, restaurant or anything for that matter. The resort is lacking all the basic infrastructure to meet your needs and you will spend more time traveling away from there than staying there. I recommend staying elsewhere such as sandy bay, west end or resorts such as pineapple villas, anthony's key or infinity bay. You will be much happier vacation with one of these other establishments. The island is great though!!!!!!
