The hotel was fine. I had requested a non-smoking room. Unfortunately by the time we arrived, only smoking rooms were available. They gave us coupons for a free breakfast which was nice. However, the room smelled of stale smoke and so did all of the clothes in my suitcase the next day!

I use holiday frequently when I travel.

Posted May 25, 2015
Pros: proximity to where I had to attend .
Cons: Put some one in charge who has pride in the hotel.
Location: Location ok.
housekeeping poor . No complete follow up to insure room service has been done to standard.2 nights when I returned I had to get my own towels because house keeping did not finish room servicing. Including trash cans not emptied. No coffee packages for coffee brewer. Drive way full of pot holes .Maintenance not carried out very well. Manager apparently does not care.

hotel management unprepared for weekend

Posted May 24, 2015
Pros: The rooms were immaculate although minor things were missing
Cons: Please refer to above statements regarding management and scheduling of appropriate staff for busy days
Location: we were there for a family graduation
Having stayed at hotels during my international employment I was very disappointed in hotel management being so unprepaired. I booked 2 rooms for my family to attend a graduation. We called ahead and expressed our desire to have early check in for our elderly parents. We were told this would be unlikely due to cleaning staff shortage. This was understandable since it was also a holiday w/e. When we returned multiple times to see if at least one room was cleaned we were met with a lobby full of angry adults speaking mult languages running children, crying babies, and luggage. Apparently no rooms were ready for anyone.. As the lobby was being remodeled there were no chairs, the benches outside were full and when we went into the lounge the tables were dirty. We finally checked into our rooms at 7:30 pm and although we asked 3 times with 3 different desk clerks,we had to call again for a cot. No managers appeared present the entire time, no apologies were given by management and no managers name was on the board behind the desk clerk who were very professional but overwhelmed. There didn't seem to be any reason for us to badger them for a problem which should have been handled by management. Many in our family are in the service industry and couldn't believe how badly this situation was handled. Unfortunately some plans for the graduation had to be changed or not done due to our inability to check into the rooms.

OK Hotel

Posted May 21, 2015
Pros: The young lady at the front desk was very nice. The pillows in our room were very nice. Big towels.
Cons: There are quite a few small things that could be done to improve the hotel. A little better housekeeping in common areas, better breakfast.
Location: Near the airport and only about 10 minutes from University of Rochester. Not much near by, but conveniently located if traveling by automobile.
This is an older large Holiday Inn. The lobby was being renovated during our visit. The building, grounds and parking lot are a bit rough and showing their age. Our room was located in one of the back wings of the property on the second floor, very near a stairwell. Unfortunately, far from an elevator. Not a big deal for my Wife and I, but was disappointing for my 75 year old mother. The room was clean and quiet. The beds were comfortable. Being at the end of the hall, the wait for hot water in the shower was pretty long and the temp was a little inconsistent, very low water pressure. The young lady at the front desk was polite and welcoming during check in. That was my only real interaction with hotel staff. Skip the breakfast option on your room selection. It was in the form of a credit and the breakfast was am over priced buffet. The volume of customers was low which makes it difficult to provide enough turnover to keep things fresh. The coffee in the lobby was good and hot. Again though this is an area that could use some TLC. Normally a messy area, sometimes short on cups and condiments. If I was traveling on business and wanted to be near the airport, this would be OK. There is a pool and if you have little ones I could see this being a decent choice. As I stated in the title, this is an OK hotel, nothing special.

Close to airport, close to most areas of Rochester

Posted May 19, 2015
Pros: good value
Cons: Crib delivered, hot tub fixed.
Location: Close to most areas of Rochester.
Totally adequate room. Hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Easy to park close to our room. We asked for a crib to be in the room twice and it was never delivered, but this is common with most hotels (not sure why they can't get it right!). Also the hot tub was broken, but this seems to be a regular occurrence with most hotels. The pool area is generally quite nice though. Lots of natural sunlight. They even have a sauna, which was a pleasant surprise!

I received a room on the highway side of the hotel. The noise wasn't horrible, but I live in the country and I'm not useto high road traffic so this impeded a good night sleep. The room was clean and simple. Having stayed in expensive rooms I could be critical, but for the nightly price of $100 it was exceeding of my expectations. The staff was friendly the restraunt/bar staff was exceptional and honest. The tub went down slow, but nothing that would warrant a call to the front desk.
