The room was clean and tidy. I wish my kid could watch the Disney channel on TV.

Hotel is close to legoland

Posted Aug 8, 2014
The hotel is not bad. The beds could be better. You get what you paid for. It's not a bad place for a 2 night stay. The ac unit was a little loud but other than that it's ok.

It was a convenient location for LEGOLAND visit

Posted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: Convenient location
Cons: Two Queen Beds or Double Beds would be better instead of a single Queen bed
Location: LEGOLAND and Carlsbad State Beach are nice place to visit.
It was a fine stay for the intended visit to LEGOLAND and the Carlsbad State Beach. We heard there is also the new Wild Animal Park but didn't get to visit.

Mediocre motel

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Location, price, nice TV, fridge
Cons: Cleanliness
Location: My territory is San Diego and LA, so Carlsbad is a great halfway point that's also very close to the beach. Location is by far the selling point.
Although the location is great for my territory, the Rodeway Inn near Legoland was somewhat disappointing. One of the three pillows on the bed had hair all over it when I arrived, but the main issue was the carpets. If I were to walk around barefoot, a black residue would build up on the soles of my feet. Seemed like the carpets hadn't been steamcleaned in many years. Otherwise, staff seemed friendly and the amenities were satisfactory.

If you value your sleep, don't go here..

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Sound proofing or hand out free ear plugs, More hand towels and washcloths, More and better TP, Steam clean the furniture or get rid of it.
1) Proximity to I-5, you can hear every car and truck that rolls by. 2) Walls are thin, so you can hear every conversation in neighboring rooms. Whisper in your room if you don't want folks to hear your conversations. Covering the head with pillows won't help. Get industrial strength ear plugs. 3) As as single occupant, I received only 1 hand towel and 1 wash cloth - really! Called the Desk 3 times to get another washcloth - no answer. I had to chase down the maids as they were cleaning other rooms to get an extra wash cloth. 4) Cheap toilet paper and not much of it. First day, there was a 1/4 roll of TP on the dispenser. Always make sure they leave an extra roll or start chasing down the maids to get one. 5) Don't bother calling the Desk ... they're not there or never answer. 6) Furniture had grease or some other sort of spots that were never removed, just wiped off.

Cheap for a reason

Posted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: Ummm, the free parking?! Other than that this hotel was horrible!
Cons: EVERYTHING! Start with a new staff (maybe ones that are a bit more efficient and maybe smile every now and then). Quit being cheap in all aspects.
Location: Legoland is nearby, but trust me... Spend the extra $25 on the next nicer hotel and you'll thank me later!
This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The customer service here is terrible. When I asked for a couple of extra towels from Raj at the front desk, he got all huffy and practically rolled his eyes at me. He proceeded to take his time to retrieve the towels as if they were still in the dryer or something?! I waited, and waited, and waited, and he finally brought some towels out. There was a flying bug in the room. When I booked this through Expedia the lady told me there was a pull out couch in the room, and she would ask that they put a rollaway in the room. When we arrived there was no rollaway, and NO couch! Additional charge for the bed. Don't be fooled by the "free breakfast" either. These people who own/work here are SOOOO cheap that the orange juice was watered down so much it pracitcally WAS water, and the cereals were all stale! YUCK! When checking out of the hotel it took my dad 10 minutes (and there was no one else in front of him in line). The guy at the front counter (Raj, again) didn't want to print off a receipt for our stay. He said that we got an invoice through an email and that was good enough. He then took his sweet ol time to print out a copy of the receipt. This hotel was cheap, but definitely cheap for a reason. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone! There was a lot of noise from the main road, horrible service, cheap on all accounts!

Hello and thank you for staying with us recently. Please allow me to explain. When you initially asked for the extra towels we provided them to you immediately. Your second request did take an extra few minutes because we had to go back to the laundry to fetch them. As for the receipt issues your booking was prepaid thru Expedia which means no money was taken by hotel. This was explained to you and your email confirmation also states that. Thank you again

It was ok but won't stay there again. The room was not clean the pillows smelled and the furniture was dusty.
