Great location - OK roomPosted Aug 19, 2012
Location: Excellent - easy to find and convenient for everything!
What we got was what we expected - a slightly dated but comfortable and perfectly located apartment in a charming "villa" just outside of the palace walls. On the downside, the quality of the fixtures and fittings barely justifies the 3-star rating; that said, everything was clean and comfortable and the A/C unit worked a charm. It was 38 degrees when we landed in Split so the A/C was vital! On the upside, the location was absolutely prime. We were a short (less than 5 minute) stroll from the Golden Gate into Diocletian's Palace and to all the attractions of the old town. The apartment was the perfect "home base" to plan your day; to return to, to cool down or to take a siesta; or to strike out from in search of evening drinks or dinner. Only complaint: the approach to service was pretty casual - not an issue generally, we are pretty self-reliant, but we had a bit of a problem when there was no one around for check out. We ended up dropping the keys in a mailbox and setting off for our next destination.

Excellent short stay at Villa DalmatianPosted Jun 12, 2012 on Hotels.com
We stopped in Split for 1 night on our way up north. Villa Dalmatian was one of the few large apartments available that was so conveniently located and could accommodate 2 adults and 2 children. The apartment is super close to the old walled town and very convenient to wander around the seaside and into the old town area. It is comfortable and spacious with all you need (towels, kitchenette, fridge, tv, AC etc.). You will be in a local neighbourhood with homes bnearby - it is a local apartment after all but nothing to complain about. It has a great restaurant nearby (within 20 steps frankly) that is not at all touristy and has great seafood at amazing prices (called Konoba Kod Joze) with very friendly staff. Ante, the host, was friendly and made us feel very welcome and helped us find free parking. Overall we were very comfortable and satisified with our stay and will recommend this apartment highly

Cosy and ConvenientPosted Jun 17, 2011
The apartment is literally two minutes from the Old Town/Diocletian's Palace, five minutes from the wharf and shopping area, and maybe only eight minute away from the train/bus/boat station. Fantastic base when staying in Split. Make sure you call the person to tell them what time you are checking in otherwise there won't be anyone there to give you the keys. The apartment itself was great, with good facilities; I couldn't figure out how the foldout sofa worked so ask the man. It's quite dark but it's good to get away from the heat in summer.
