La Reina VictoriaPosted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: See above
Cons: Couldn't get onto the Internet but this was not a major problem. Some damage to our wooden shutters. - but again nothing major.
Location: Very close to all the main places to visit in the Old City.....+ close to good restaurants.
We did not stay at Husa Llar as it was shut. La Reina Victoria was the alternative on offer. It was very central which was great but not noisy as our room looked out onto a small inner courtyeard. A beautiful dining room.......good food, very friendly and helpful staff.Would definitely recommend it.

Unfriendly staff air cond is too noisy cant sleepPosted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: location is near shops and train station
Cons: They should changed me to the room for non-smoking and with quieter air cond
the room is with smoking smell Air condition was too noisy that I could not sleep. If air cond is turned off, then it's too smell. I contacted one the the hotel staff but he said he did not speak english and he did not understand anything I am saying. I found it too rude for a hotel staff with unfriendly and helpful.. who just try to get the money from the people but dont want to do any services for the what I have paid for. It's very disappointed!

Central hotel near metroPosted Jun 5, 2014
Pros: Convenient location, spacious rooms. Very good price via expedia.
Cons: Tea / coffee facilities in room
Location: Cathedral and old area, old market building. Plenty of shops and restaurants.
Very conveniently located in nice shopping area, short walk to old part of city and plenty of nice restaurants. Direct metro line to the university, which was alternatively 20 mins walk. Hotel is not particularly fancy, a bit plain, but rooms are spacious (though didn't have views of anything much), everything worked. Wifi was free but rather slow. Fine for business travel, probably not so good for a holiday.

OK Hotel in Nice LocationPosted Mar 15, 2014
Pros: A fridge and safe in the room and a little shoe shine which was very useful.
Cons: Irons are only available 8 AM to 4 PM. Called in the morning at 8, receptionist did not speak English. Used Spanish word for iron, still no luck!!
Location: Many shopping stores are right around the hotel. There is also a super market within close walking distance.
The best thing about this hotel is its close location to the midtown area plazas. It is also right across the street from the Colon metro stop entrance which is on the same line coming from the airport. It takes only 22 minutes from the airport to the Colon metro stop. It is 4.90 Euros for a one way ticket from the airport to midtown. The carpet in the room is very worn down and wrinkled. A main problem exists with the A/C control which is preset by the hotel to 22 degrees centigrade. It was better to keep the windows open during the day for the cool air to come into the bedroom. At night I had to shut the window to eliminate the street noise.

Great location but terrible roomPosted Dec 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
The location was perfect. Could walk most places or cross the street for the metro to further locations. The staff was very nice and helpful. But the rooms need to be updated. The carpets were stained and coming apart from the wall and floor. The bed was decently comfortable despite very old and saggy. The sheets and towels were fresh but the bathroom floor and counters had not been cleaned as there were water spots and smears all over the surfaces and hair everywhere. It was kind of gross. It worked for a night's stay, but next time I'm going to pay more for a nicer hotel.

Good reasonably priced Hotel .Posted Oct 4, 2013
Good reasonably priced Hotel very close to main Train Station and opposite Metro which makes it an excellent choice for an overnight stay when traveling. Have used this Hotel several times now and will continue to do so in the future.

Great location, slightly uncomfortable roomPosted Sep 19, 2013
Pros: I loved the location, right in the heart of Valencia and very nice hotel staff who worked with me for every request I had.
Cons: I'd love to have been able to control my air conditioning (or at least have it set below 24 C which is 75 F in case you were wondering) and nicer bed.
Location: In the center of Valencia so a lot to see nearby and it's right next to the train station as well so easy to travel to other cities in the area.
I booked this hotel because I was coming into Valencia after traveling 24 hours straight and I needed somewhere to stay close to Valencia Nord train station so I could get a full nights sleep and then move onto where I was going to be attending school. This hotel worked great for that. I was able to get into my room quickly, shower, get food and sleep a glorious 14 hours. In addition, I had some free time the next day and the area was full of shopping from el Corte Inglés to other little boutiques. The hotel staff was willing to hold my luggage while I did that and helped me get a taxi to the train station when I needed to. The only negatives are I'm not sure I would have been able to sleep on that bed had I not gone 24 hours without sleep since it was somewhat like sleeping on a plank of wood and you cannot control your air conditioning, only the fan so I was fairly hot as well. I think for the price, the location, and the friendliness of staff, I could see myself doing it again, but if you have a little money to spare and looking for a place to really stay while in Valencia, I don't know if I would have picked this one.

Had an excellent stay. The hotel is at the moment extending from the breakfast room. This did not detract from the excellent breakfast and attentive service. Most of bthe arttractions of Valencia are within walking distance but the Matro is a very cheap and easy way of getting around.

Old town hotel at a great ratePosted Feb 25, 2013
Great quality for the cost. Room is stuffy and windows have no view, however you stay in the centre of the old town so you won't be in your room often.
