Good value: close to border and highway 99

Posted May 19, 2015
Pros: The center pool area with the high glass ceiling and glass elevators are kind of cool.
Cons: Include a hot breakfast.
Location: Handful of wineries; White Rock's marine drive, few mins away, to 'beach front'-like restaurants/businesses, pier, seawall path; Vancouver approx 45min
This is actually a reasonable place to stay - yes, it is a bit dated but our room/bathroom was clean. The bathroom may have been updated several years ago but everything was working fine. The hotel is a pink building right off of highway 99 and very close to peace arch border crossing. Internet and ample parking was included. The hotel bar/restaurant was not busy and near closing time but the hostess/bartender/server accommodated us with a couple of dishes she recommended - we were happy with the generous portions for reasonable prices. There is an open pool/grotto area on the lowest floor in the center of the hotel, which you can view from the lobby level, glass elevators or any of the inner rooms on floors 2 and 3; the area above the pool is open all the way to the 3rd floor glass ceiling, which seems to let in a lot of natural light.

Overall it was good we had a short stay, however we were not told by expedia that they will charge security deposit of 200.

Hotel was beautiful...the room not so much

Posted May 10, 2015
The hotel part impressed me. It's gorgeous! But once you get off that cool glass elevator, the hotel halls and rooms look dated. The room was nice and clean but the A/C was ancient and didn't work well. The bathtub was clogged so we had to have foot baths with our showers. Overall though I actually would return. I enjoyed my stay and the hotel staff were awesome!

Noisy, outdated

Posted May 2, 2015
The hotel was not very busy and yet the reception put us in a noisy room facing the highway with broken window sills..making it more noisy. Also even though non smoking you can smell smoking at night and in the am. Outdated and average cleanliness.

ok if not expecting too much

Posted May 1, 2015
Pros: location
Cons: major renovations to rooms required.
Location: not far from shopping mall and white rock boardwalk
Tired and outdated rooms. had 2 rooms, one the AC did not work and the other still had dirty dishes behind the curtains.

Pros: Location and accessibility to the border
Cons: Felt a little 'shabby'
Location: Close (5 minutes) to the border allowing a fast start on our trip to the US
Got the impression that the hotel was a little run down. Did not meet expectations................

Hotel is very close to the border.

It was a convenient stay just past the border. After a long drive it was nice to stay in a place just past the border before driving into Vancouver the next day

good location, staff was very friendly

Posted Apr 7, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff, especially in the restaurant. really nice girl-long dark hair and glasses. nice touch having breakfast included. good location
Cons: Cleanliness in room, clean sheets,
Very friendly restaurant staff especially Jean. One of the girls-blond hair from the front desk should find another job. She wasn't that kind or helpful. We were locked out of our rooms as she checked us out 2 days sooner. Error on her part. Also she wouldn't give us our free breakfast coupons and said we should go to the front desk every am and get the coupons, It's a little thing and the front desk is very close to the restaurant but...4 days in a row. My sister's room had pizza sauce on the sheets. She didn't have pizza that night!! The staff changed the sheets the next am. Over all we would probably stay there again but will check our sheets.
