Traveler's tip on local attractions
Do not miss Jamestown but allow plenty of time. Take the tour and the new museum/gallery requires at least two hours to do it right. The tour is ninety minutes.

On the Verge of Dingy
Our two bedroom town house was not new, and not immaculate. There were stains and damage on surfaces, including mold in the bathrooms. The master tub was not functional, the diswasher made a racket and one of the (four!) TVs had faulty audio so that it emitted a high-pitched squeel when in use. The lighting throughout was problematic to me. The master bedroom had no windows! and many of the fixtures used dim bulbs. Most of our stay, we had little contact with other guests, but we could hear them in the parking lot and especially in the entrance to the town house. The double door entry forces you to share the HEAVY outer door with other guests and coming and goings were VERY noisy, with lots of slams and bangs. The indoor aquatic center pool had questionable water quality and the outer door pools were crowded and not particularly child friendly to our school-aged kids. There were too many rules. The hot tub was forbidden, filled with overweight senior citizens and had no functioning jets. We had a good vacation anyway and were happy to stay in an apartment-like setting. For the money, however, the accomodations were far from plush-- not at all luxurious. If the facilities were newer and cleaner, Id have a better opinion. Overall, it was OK, but I was left feeling like they could have done a better job, or that maybe we just got unlucky and had an old, beat-up unit. APL and Family.
Traveler's tip on dining
Best dining experience for us was "Food for Thought"--in an area rife with chains and pancake houses this was a unique, well-run restaurant with a high-end concept. Not at all predictable, a little pricey but worth it for excellent food and service.

Had an amazing stay & was more than impressed!
My fiance and I took an extended Labor Day weekend vacation to Williamsburg (we are from Upstate NY) and couldnt have been more surprised or impressed with Kings Creek. Like many others, I was hesitant to stay here because of some of the bad reviews I had read on this site. However, it turned out to be more than I could have hoped for! We stayed on Squirrel Lane (I think that was the name), number 3A, and the place was gorgeous. 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, 2 and a half baths, a flat screen in the living room. The place was spotless. The absolutely ONLY complaints I have is that the bed was somewhat hard (not enough so that I couldnt sleep, but definitely not a pillow-top mattress), and we could not check in any earlier than the stated 4 pm time. We arrived around 1 pm, so we had to find something to do until 4. However, we were allowed to use the pool facilities, so we changed in the locker room and spent a couple hours by the pool! Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone. The staff was extremely nice, and the grounds were gorgeous. We had a blast!
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Busch Gardens is literally a 5 minute drive, Water Country USA is 30 seconds down the road. Very convenient Target/Kohls plaza to get anything you might need. Also went into downtown Williamsburg for dinner - so adorable and quaint. Tons of little shops around to waste time in, along with the Prime Outlets (about 10-15 minute drive) which you could spend an entire DAY in; they are huge!
