Pleasantly Surprised

This hotel was great! The staff was very helpful, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was impeccable. Everything was modern and convenient. Even the breakfast was superior to more expensive hotels in New York. You will have to give yourself about an hour on public transportation to get to Manhatten but the trip itself is fun. Overall this hotel was well worth the hour bus and subway trip and the price was unbeatable.

Don’t waste your money on the LIRR. Just take the number Q36 bus to the train it’s faster and cheaper. If you are going to be there for more than one day then get a 7 day unlimited Metro Card. Trust me you will get your money’s worth in 2 days especially if you get lost and have to get back on a different bus or train.

Cheap but Clean!

If you’re looking for a clean yet cheap place to stay, this is it. It’s about 15minutes from the airport but the room is large, charming and very clean. It’s in the middle of a neighborhood so you hear the traffic and the train but the comfort out weighs those issues.

Small but well kept rooms. The neighborhood was not impressive, but the inside of the hotel was very well kept up.

The Howard Johnson Hotel in Queens New York is one of the cleaness establishment I ever visited. The Staff was cordial and helpful. I would go back to that same hotel, when I return to New York.

Great Little Hotel

I wasn’t sure what to expect because of where the hotel was located, but I was very happy with my experience there. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean, breakfast was enjoyable, and I definitely feel that I got my moneysworth. I would definitely stay there when I am in the city again!

It was okay

The best part was the breakfast because I had kids with me. I liked the free ice because sometimes you have to pay for the ice at other hotels. I was not pleased to find dried blood on the sheets, and as a result now I think it may have come from bed bugs. My entire family have Bed bugs bumps on our bodies.

Great inexpensive hotel

My wife was raised in this town and she was reluctant to go and stay in it because of perceived changes. She was wrong and she was happy to admit to this. She would now go back to this hotel at any time in the future. It was quiet, clean and warm. Breakfast was light and fine. The other guests were friendly and helpful. If I have to again visit this area, I will definitely stay at this hotel. By the way, they had the best rate in the area.

Too Far From NYC

There was nothing wrong with the hotel. Queens Village is a charming little town, and I felt very safe there. When I reserved, I was unaware that it was not within the subway system. I had to resort to the Long Island Railroad. This is good for someone who comes with a car. From Penn Station, you have to transfer at Jamaica. Hotel staff was very nice.

NYC hotels are too expensive. I will never go to NYC again. It is ridiculously overpriced.

Good hotel for this price

Very convenient for visit New York, the hotel is just walk to the Quenns Village Station. The price was ride to Penn Station is only $2.50. Tha staff is excellent.

you get waht you paid for

pros: location is nice, 2 minutes from the train station relatevily clean room cons: location is not in the best part of the city, did not feel safe no services at all: no cofemaker in the room, no free cofe after breakfast breakfast is very minimal and very much not healthy overall - 2 out of 5

Visit Mathues Restauntant, around the corner

Very clean. Safe place. We had to walk from the LRR station every nigth (12:00 a.m. -2 :00 a.m.). Check the schedule for last train from Penn Station to Queens Village.

Great for a short Stay

My husband & I had an overnight layover on our way to Aruba so we decided to stay at this hotel. The neighborhood wasn’t that great a little run down, but the hotel customer service was great and it was clean & comfortable. There is a train that we heard go by about every hour but it’s not loud at all and doesn’t shake the walls. We would recommend staying here if you are in the area & need a place to stay for a short while. It was a good price!

Just Bad Luck?

New and Clean, very small room. Air conditioning unit did stay on to cool room adequately. Staff felt the problem would be the same in all the rooms. New 32" Flat screen TV had very poor reception (snow and distortions) on many channels. Staff could not resolve - needed technical person unavailable on weekend.

Good for low budget

This hotel is great for travelers with low budget. The bad thing is that you will take one hour to arrive to Manhattan.

Our recommended choice

We were looking for a convinient, economic and safe place to stay in order to make our sight seeing in Manhattan: And that is exactly what we got!. The Long Island Railroad is just 3 min walk away and takes you to Penn Station in 30 min. The place is in good condition and our room had a resonable size. There was a free parking available for our rental as well. So this is our choice and we would enjoy to return any time.

This is a good budget hotel with easy transportation to NYC. The hotel is average, but walls are thin and noise was a problem.

The room was clean and comfortable, the location can be intimidating at first, but is actually a pretty quiet area. I would stay there again, because the price is right.

The hotel is far from Manhattan but close to the LIRR train station. I can say its user can go to Manhattan without a car, but it was so inconvenient.
