Filthy

We’ve been to the Peppermill several times and it’s always been a pleasant visit. This time we arrived very late and the front desk lady was very rude. We upgraded our room expecting to find something special but were greeted with an old outdated filthy room. Had I been by myself i never would have stayed, i would rather have slept in my car but my husband doesn’t like it when i complain so i kept my mouth shut and dealt with it. When we got up to leave the next morning my husband informed me that it was possible the dirtiest room he had ever stayed in and please lets never stay here again!

so so rooms

I would upgrade to a better room. The deal was on a room far from the casino area and seemed very old. Towels were old and you could get better ones at Costco. Coffee maker malfunctioned on first use.

Spend the extra money for a better room.

spa serenity

the spa was excellent. if you book a massage, you get a day of access pass to use their amenities. their outdoor pools are gorgeous and heated. the photos in the website look real and in fact when you see the hotel, it looks much better that the photos. excellent food! romanza was great, buffet was okay, coffee shop was good and room service was excellent. they had coupons that were a really good bargain. won about $600 in blackjack with no money out. we gained it all.

can keep your kids entertain while you gamble in this resort. there is an arcade room, pool, fitness center.

Not First Choice

When booking our room, the site leads you to believe you are getting a room in the new section. It was an "updated" room far from the casino and restaurants. We asked to be moved. We were moved and upgraded at no additional cost. The room was better but still not the best.

Fun place

We enjoyed our night out at the Peppermill and had a great time. The room was nice and the staff friendly. We also did really well in the Casino.

Comfortable Hotel

We weren’t given the promised hotel coupons upon checking-in and didn’t remember ourselves until leaving. However the room, restaurants, and casino were great and a good overall value.

Reno Street Vibrations

Hotel was nice and secure, Layout can be confusing from parjing garage to room you must go through all parts of the casino

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Realitly close to most attaractions in the area, a good taxi ride is suggested and arond ten dollars to get to downtown.

Beautiful Hotel

Impressed with overall quality, Spa was gourgeous, and their staff was top notch. Spa room in Peppermill Tower was very nice, but certain things not up to standards. Air duct was coated with dust, and few dings in room and base boards. Steam shower was wonderful. Would return, but probably try Tuscan Tower instead.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Wished I had tried Spa earlier in trip, as I diffently would have gone twice. 3 floors and you could spend the whole day once checked in. Would have loved to get 2nd massage! The pool area outside was also outstanding.

Okay

Resort fees covered things we didn’t use. Coffee pot didn’t work and buying a cup at the deli every morning got expensive. I hated all the mirrors and had a hard time navigating in the casino, although it seemed to have the loosest slots. I was offended by the sensors attached to the snack and mini bar with signs threatening if you removed anything you would be charged. All of that junk took up space we could have used for our things. We were on our honeymoon and mentioned it at check in, there were no upgrades offered. Other than that if you don’t mind these things the hotel was maintained well and quiet at night & the bed was comfortable!

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Use your players card for comps. They are generous for food comps. Food is good except the ribs.

Never again

I stayed in the "cheaper" tower, so I expected that it wouldn’t have all the bells and whistles (I know that the Peppermill is an older hotel), but I didn’t expect to have to take 2 different elevators AND carry my bag up a mini-staircase to get to my room. I had quite a bit of luggage and it wasn’t convenient at all. I wasn’t even offered help to my room (the bellman probably refuses to go that far). The rooms were very dark, the security latch at the top of the door didn’t work and there was a small but unpleasant blood stain on the comforter. I travel to Reno often but won’t ever be staying at this hotel again.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

If you aren’t trying to stay within the GSA rates for the Reno area - just pay the extra money to get a room in the new tower.

Upgrade.

The hotel was doing some work on the room we had reserved so they upgraded us to a very luxurious room on the tower. We had a patio facing the pool. The bathroom was huge, marble, 2 sinks, a humongous shower, a whirlpool tub, and a separate room for the commode. The tv welcomed me with my name. Twas a lovely stay.

Luxury in Reno???

Purchased additional upgrade upon arrival and ended up in a "Tuscan Tower Suite". Room was quite lavish considering total cost. Staff pleasant, quick to respond and helpful. Had stayed here before and will again.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

Enjoyed the casino. Better than other I’ve been in.

Didn’t get the room I was suppose to

When I got to the desk to check-in, I found out that the "non-smoking room" I had on my reservation was up to the hotels descretion. If I wanted to pony-up 20 more bucks I could get a non-smoking room. Throughly pissed me off. If I could had made a different choice I would have. Won’t stay there next year.

Super Plush Tuscan Suite

We reserved a spa suite and when we arrived late on a Friday night were more than pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to one of the Tuscan Suites in the newest part of the hotel. Needless to say the room was beautiful and I took full advantage of the whirlpool tub and plasma screen tv in the bathroom. All in all, it was a great hotel and a great stay. I would definitely stay there again.

Not very friendly.

Hotel is pretty from a distance but get up close and due to the unfriendliness of the staff it is hard to overlook the little things.

Great Room with a view

Great Room and a nice view from the 15th floor. I would have been happy just staying in the room with the spa and big screen tv’s and comfy bed but my friends made me come out and play. Had a good time. Will stay there next time.

Great room but be weary of resort fee

Beautiful room with cheap upgrade to Grand Spa Suite. I was a little surprised when I noticed that they charged me an extra 10 dollars per night for a resort fee. Expedia should include this fee when they are quoting prices. Other than having to pay an extra 20 dollars (2 nights), I was pleased with my experience.

Fantastic Experience

A nine day stay gave me an opportunity to learn about the Peppermill. From the front desk to the maids there was no doubt that customer satisfaction is their goal. I appreciated the fact that as an infrequent traveler, the Peppermill did everything possible to make me comfortable. The room was as advertised and the resort better! The restaurant selections were diverse and all very good. We will visit again as soon as we can.

Great hotel

It was amazing. The hotel staff was super nice and just overall it was a great trip. I didn’t have any problems whatsoever. I got upgraded to the spa suite for free by booking through expedia. The room was super clean and honestly the hotel was just awesome.

Beautiful hotel, needs more cocktail waitress’s around pool and on casino floor .

Food, Room and casino were very clean and pleasent. The machines let you play and there were alot of pay outs. make sure to get a players card and rent a car if you get a chance. We drove to Lake Tahoe but sides ,it’s worth seeing. My husband and I would go back.

Traveler's tip

Rent a car.....Go to the gondala in Tahoe and if you get a chance go to Sqaw Valley.
