Would probably stay there again

Our room was quiet (near the river). Hotel staff were very nice and helpful. We were able to check into our room earlier than expected (1:30pm instead of 3:00pm)). It was great because my daughter was able to catch a quick nap before heading to SeaWorld for Spook-tacular on Halloween. We enjoyed the free water transportation to and from Downtown Disney. The food court prices were expensive, but the Mickey Mouse waffles every morning for breakfast were delicious and the warm syrup was a nice touch! Free shuttle bus transportation to and from the Magic Kingdom was easy to access.

Great Stay

Only went for a quick weekend so the smaller resort worked best. Didn’t have a far walk from central area no matter what building you are in. Resort services run smoothly. Great trip.

Quiet but needs another pool

We loved the quietness of the Port Orleans French Quarter. The ferry boat to Downtown Disney is a must - very convenient and relaxing, enjoyable ride. The availability of lounge chairs by the pool was slim to none the 4 days we were there - even the non-weekend days. The resort needs more than one pool (although you do have access to the Riverside pools via ferry). Transportation to Disney’s parks and Orlando airport was top notch. I would stay again - but the pool access was a disappointment.

Great place to stay.

Great place to stay for the money. The resort was centrally located to all the atractions in the area. Transportation was available from the airport to the resort; did not have to rent a car. The simplicity of using the transportation system was "EXCELLENT".

The best time to travel is October - November. Less crowded due to kids in school. Minimum time waiting for any attractions in the theme parks.

beds too small

did not know that a queen or king bed was next to impossible to get even though it was requested. My husband is a big guy and the size of the beds made it uncomfortable.

Disney World vacation

Port Orlean French Quarter was the perfect balance between not too big and not too small. It’s also ideally located wthin Disney World for convenient access to everything.

Wish there had been more time to enjoy the resort

I wish there had been more time to enjoy the Disney’s Port Orleans Resort French Quarter. I would have like one day just to relax and enjoy the pool, grounds and the Riverside resort next door. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Every morning a cast member was at the front entry of the hotel greeting us and offering helful hints on what to see at the park we were heading to. I was impressed with the upkeep of the room and even with the towels that formed a Mickey Mouse head on the bed. The water taxi that provides transportation to Downtown Disney was great fun. The bus transportation to the parks was outstanding, no need for a car. Make sure to invest in the beverage mug that allows you refills at no additional charge at the resort beverage island through your stay.

Nice place to stay

Nice, clean and reasonably priced. Just wish the restaurant was opened for breakfast as an alternative to the food court.

Wonderful Experience

We took our grandson who is 2 and 1/2 years-old. I had selected the Port Orleans French Quarter largely because of its swimming pool. Karmello loves the water and I knew that the water slide would appeal to him. The hotel exceeded our expectations. He loved the pool. More importantly for others, the Magical Express whisked our bags from our departing right into our hotel room in a timely fsahion just as advertised. The shuttle service to and from the airport was fine as was the service to the parks. We loved the boat rides to Downtown Disney each night as we ventured in to get our Ghiardelli ice cream. The grounds were beautiful and we thought we were actually in the French Quarter minus the filth and odors associated with NOLA. The food court at the hotel met our needs, too. I would return without any hesitation whatsoever,

A Lovely, Less Crowded Disney Hotel

My partner and I stayed at this little gem for one night before staying at the Grand Floridian. The theming is great, and you do feel like you’re in the French Quarter in certain areas. The rooms are comfortable and have everything one would need for a vacation, except for a fridge. Worth noting: we had a problem with our room and the staff switched it for us with no problem. Everyone was really courteous and presented great senses of humor - something very important when you’re theming yourself after the French Quarter. They were also LGBT friendly, which should really be expected anywhere - but sadly that’s not the case yet. One downside - the food. There’s nothing open after 11:30 or 12PM and when there is food open, it’s only fast food (burgers, fries, etc.). A little more unique New Orleans flavor would add a much needed boost to this place! Start with the food, Disney!

Eat at the Grand Floridian. Food there is top notch.

Another Magical Vacation

The French Qtr is one of the smaller Disney hotels so no matter where your room is it’s not far to walk to when you get off the bus after a long day in the park. The staff is alway friendly and eager to help and are full of information about anything Disney. The rooms are always clean (this is the 3rd time I have stayed here) as is the property. The selection of food at breakfast is plentiful.( I have not eaten there for any other meal). The wait for the buses to go to the parks is never to long nor too crowded. I love the boat ride that takes you directly to Downtown Disney. Checking in and out is a breeze. I especially like that you can leave your luggage in a safe place when you check out so you can spend more time playing in the hotel arcade or going to a park or Downtown Disney before you sadly have to leave this magical place to catch the Magical Express bus to the airport.

Needs updating but fine for the money

Great for families. The water features at the pool look great for kids. The boat shuttle to Downtown Disney was convenient, timely and enjoyable. I would take my grandkids there. The room decor is a little dated but it was comfortable and clean.

Make sure to get a no smoking room!!

Great location, beatiful gardens, nice service, big and fun pool. The issue we had is that we booked two rooms and I thought was clear coming from one reservation that the rooms should be together. To my surprise at 11:00 pm (after the no so scary party) the rooms they had for us were not together. So they kindly found two rooms next to each other with the incovenience that one of the rooms had so strong smell of cigars and had food in the fridge. So at the time of the night we didn’t complain. So that will be my advice make sure before you get to the hotel that your rooms are exactly what you requested.

Make sure before you get to the hotel that your rooms are together and they are smoking free.

Port Orleans French Quarter - Disney World

This is a lovely hotel. I was so impressed with how nice the employees were, from groundsmen to cooks. It was a lovely trip. Very restful, great food and close to The Magic Kingdom. Additionally, there were frequent buses to all of the other Disny Parks. They make everything very convenient for you. I would definately stay here again.

We have gone 4 times in October. The weather is perfect and the crowds are minimal.

Beds need an upgrade

The room was small but very clean. The Bath\Toilet area is very small, Too small. The beds were uncomfortable for me but OK for the rest in my party. But then again who goes to Disney to spend time in the room? The food court was OK and was open late which was great in October when a lot of dining choices elsewhere closed early. The pool is open till midnight which was also great after a long day at the parks. Disney transportation to the parks was very good. The benifit of extra magic hours, the magical express and using your room key as a credit card everywhere in Disney made staying at a Disney property a great value. This property is smaller than the others so there are less crowds to deal with.

Loved Disney - hotel not impressive

My family stayed at Port Orleans and my sister’s family stayed at Pop Culture. She paid quite a lot less than I did. When we visited her at her hotel I couldn’t believe the difference. Pop Culture was a lot better. They had three pools Port Orleans had one. Our rooms were pretty much the same size. There was nothing that special about Port Orleans for the price I paid. Very disappointing.

Very nice, comfortable

Hard to find. We made many wrong turns and had to ask directions at least twice, ( that was hard since I, a man , was driving.) Once we arrived we enjoyed our 2 day stay.

Good Disney Hotel

My husband and I have stayed at 4 Disney Hotels so far and this is our favorite so far. The beds are a little firm for us but every other aspect was quite enjoyable. We really enjoy being able to take the boat to Downtown Disney in the evening.

Take the Disney transportation it makes getting around alot easier.

Good as Disney

I stayed in the French Quartier. It’s a romantic and funny hotel. I love the beautiful landscaping and the possibility of use both hotels, the Riverside and French Quartier. Nice swimming pool with a slide; my son enjoyed so much in their. The room is not amazing. Simple and clean, except behind the refrigerator... I requested a late check out, the answer was NO...

would stay again

the hotel was very nice, they made our stay very pleasant and went out of their way to get us a room closer to the front since I have a disability. The food could of been better, but overall the stay was great.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

use the boat service to get you to downtown disney. It was quick and easy. no waiting for the bus. we loved it and at night it was nice and cool after a long hot day.

Great Hotel

This is my second visit to Port Orleans French Quarter. You get very good value for your money. Great for families who want to see all the parks and have extra money to spend inside the parks or at Downtown Disney instead of spending big $$ on the deluxe Disney Resorts. You will not be dissappointed.
