Very nice!

In a rather historic neighborhood; interesting surroundings. Somewhat older motel, but in good shape. Impressive breakfast buffet! Outdoor pool, lounge, lobby, patio or rooms are all fine for relaxation and/or visiting with family and friends. My family and I definitely agree that we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Really Disappointed

This hotel is really becoming run-down. Age and use is apparent in the rooms. Carpets need a good cleaning and maids need to remember to place items such as shampoo, lotion, etc. in rooms after cleaning. Wanted to spend some time at the pool, but it seemed like there were more kids in the hotel pool then at the City pool. Staff was great, but our stay was lousy.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Olympic size pools attract families looking for an easy inexpensive mini-vacation. If you like to swim, choose hotel that’s not completely booked for the weekend.

disappointed.

the grounds of the hotel were nice, The room was in need of updating, The toilet was never fixed and almost overflowed with each use,we had to go to the lobby to use the toilet once. the bathtub never did drain properly and had standing water in it all day. we did contact the desk twice and I know they did come up once, it never did get fixed when we were there. The jaccuzi was nice and did work.

Plagued by plumbing problems

This hotel/resort must have been a fun place to stay in it’s heyday. It’s a huge complex of several 2 story buildings with a pool and spa in the center of the courtyard. The lobby, breakfast buffet, and bar area were nice, but no renovations have been done to the courtyard rooms in ages. Our first room was dingy and the beds were hard, but the real kicker was flushing the toilet and watching the water level rise just to the top of the bowl. For the price of the room, I was not at all impressed with what we got, so I asked for a better room. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a Presidential suite, which was 2 basic rooms connected, one of which had a huge spa tub where the kitchenette was in the other room. This spa-tub was next to the beds, so we were surprised in the middle of the night to hear a glub-glub gurgling sound coming from that area. When we turned on the light to investigate, we found someone else’s spa tub drainage coming up through our tub, along with black parts of mildew-mold from within the plumbing. Well, we were instantly turned off to the idea of using the tub! At least the toilets flushed in this room, however one person we met at breakfast said he had stayed all over the complex on business and all of the buildings had one sort of plumbing problem. This hotel is in a catch 22- very few rooms being sold, thus no money for renovation in the rooms.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

The bartender was great, and the bar area was very nice. Locals from the area flocked here.

Very nice place to stay

The Hotel grounds are very pretty, and well kept. Complimentary breakfast was great; it made our morning that much nicer to have breakfast waiting for us when we got ready to eat. We would definately stay there again.

Large room= could use a little updating

Cockroach found, in the bed. But for size of room(suite), and attached kitchen. No big deal! Were allowed to check in a little early, was a huge help to us.

Great bed

Staff was helpful, lobby, bar and comp breakfast were nice, the bed was THE most comfortable I have ever slept in at a hotel, the only down side was the construction condition of the bathroom, had to be the worst, sloppiest, most pathetic excuse for a remodel I have ever seen.

Excellent Breakfast Buffet

The hotel was very nice, the only thing was that the hall ways and the elevators were very hot! When we got to our room it was also very hot, after turning on the air of course it took a while for it to cool, but afterwards it was nice and fresh. The bed are also so comfortable!

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Having breakfast at the hotel saved us a good $20.00 daily----and the food was excellent!

Not at all impressed

Was in main building first few days. Only one elevator working, by last night other one broke, we were on 4th floor. This is an older hotel, it needs a good overhaul. We had to move so we didn’t climb 4 flights of stairs with luggage, next room had spider webs in corner, bugs in room, thermostat cover missing therefore we had no visible signs of temperature in room. When my daughter arrived 6 days earlier she said the pool was green. I would not recommend this hotel for future travelers.

There are no restaurants within walking distance, you will need a rental car if you lodge here.

Nasty Room

I wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone becasue the rooms are very dirty! While walking in the room when I had arrived for just a few minutes without shoes my socks were filthy. The carpet is hideous. When running the water in the sink it had a very bad odor that filled the room. The bed was very comfortable but because the room was so dirty including the walls couldnt sleep in the bed before having to go out to purchase sheets. I would never stay at this hotel again and the only thing good about the hotel is the breakfast they serve. Oh by the way Bathroom is unacceptable.

Traveler's tip

Try to aviod the I10 as much as possible in the downtown area. All exits are blocked. It better to travel on the streets.

I have received a room with the toilet out of order.

I needed to complain to the manager more than one time because they pretend I stay in the same room unable to use. I was really bothered with this problem. They were not receptive with me as customer who paid already services and deserve better treatment. I hope that this people do not do it again for others.

To suggest places to share with family.

Inn Suites

The lobby and outside areas of the hotel are very nice, however the maintence in the room was terrible. When a repair was made it looked as if a very bad DIYer did it. The elevator went down while we were there for 2 days and my mother is handicapped and had to walk down the steps one time and I insisted they move us--they did. The room they moved us too was ground floor, but had an adjoining room. The door to that room once had a mirror on it and the mirror was gone, but the holes for the screws and the glue were still on the door. There were not enought outlets in the room. We ran out of toilet paper during our stay and had to go looking for some. We received toiletries the first day and not again throughout the stay of 6 days. We left early.

Traveler's tip

No not stay here.

Decent place to stay but some annoyances

Overall, I would rate InnSuites Hotel & Suites average to good. The breakfast bar is very good, nice selection of hot and cold food. When I arrived, the heater/air conditioning unit in my room did not work at all. The clerk at the reservation desk assured me that it would be repaired, but over 24 hours went by and nobody came to repair it, so I asked to be moved to another room, and they did comply. The water in the shower alternated between hot and cold, which was annoying. The carpet in the room was filthy like a lot of hotels - my white socks were dingy brown after walking across it for just a few hours. The television reception was okay on about half of the stations, while the other half got poor reception. Despite these inconveniences, the staff seemed to be very concerned about correcting the problems. I think if management puts a priority on tightening up a few things, I would rate this hotel above average.

Not the best place in town, but decent. Nice pool, jacuzzi, breakfast bar, convenient to I-10. Price is about right for the quality. Friendly staff who are willing to help you out if you have complaints.

Alright for the price

The condition of the hotel leaves a little to be desired. This hotels price was alright, the room smelled clean, but you could tell it needed updating along with the rest of the hotel. It was the little things that bothered me about this hotel, the front door of the hotel was not working, the TV in the room didn’t work, things like that. The staff was extremely friendly, we were able to check in early which was a help after driving 13 hours to get there. I would recomend for the price, but it needs some love!

very impressed

I was very impressed with the ’old world’ feeling upon entering, and more impressed withe the room itself. The decor was warm, well appointed and more like a living room. The pool area was most impressing, and the grounds. Wow. Also, the breakfast buffet was very impressive. Overall, I’d give it a "10" for a modest priced hotel.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Hired a tour guide for 3 hours to get an overview. Very worthwhile. With only a partial day, it was the best way to get the ’feel’ of architecture, desert and crafts.

Great Services, but need to work on computer system

Shortly after I received my room key, I headed off to my room. When I walked in it was obvious that someone else was still occupying the room, so I was issued a new room. Shortly after that, I headed off to my new room and walked in to see a naked man getting into the shower. The explanation was that there was something wrong with their computer system. They say that 3rd time is a charm and I was finally able to receive a vacant room on the 3rd try, but the entire experience was quite embarrassing.

If you travel with a pet, this is the ideal place to stay. The grounds are beautiful and have wonderful places for our four legged friends to roam around.

Very old & in poor condition- Room 421

Hotel in very poor condition, the bathroom had a huge patch on the ceiling that looked like the person above you could come crashing thru at any moment. The shower had more water running thru the faucet below then on top. The tub was painted and the paint was falling off. All the furniture very old and smelled old, the iron didn’t work and the ironing board was from 1970 or so. Staff is also not very interested in your business, I came in with two people and they didn’t even acknowledge us until they were good and ready. Very disappointed and will never ever go back. I think Expedia also needs to be more selective on who they have on their hotel list. This has left a bad taste in my mouth that I doubt I will ever use this website again. Savings was ZERO! I went and purchased some sheets and pillows because I did not feel comfortable using the hotels. Waste of money!
