It could have been the perfect spot

It only lacked an in-room laptop safe and pots& pans for the very adequate kitchen area. South Beach hotel bathrooms can tiny and skimpy on needed amenities but the Haddon’s very nice: the shower was actually adult-sized, the water was hot and the water pressure was strong.

Good Value

This hotel is a good value in a great location. It is 1 block from the beach entrance. The hotel is clean, the maid came everday with towels and supplies. The olympic size pool is a real plus. The problem for me was the noise at the pool caused by loud guests who at times seemed to take over. A lot of drinking was going on against pool rules. The kitchenette was lacking in items. I have stayed at this hotel many times. It is a good deal despite the noise. Week days seem to be quieter.

Buy or bring some food for breakfast and beach lunches. You can cook in the room and have your own refrigerator.

The disgusting smell

Hotel is dirty. A room of category De-Luxe actually the most usual room. The room has the smell of a dirty floor and walls. The room hasn’t towels, it is necessary to go and ask.

Fantastic Location but old and grimmy

Accross the street from beach and in the heart of South Beach. That’s all for the positive. Noisy, dirty and room was extremely basic. If I was traveling with my wife we would not have stayed. Would not reccomend it for kids too. You can hear lots of street noise too from your room.

Not very impressive.

Hotel was clean and neat, but rooms not updated. Worn out carpet in hallway and stairs. TV with cable, no movie station(HBO or Showtime). Full size refrig, no microwave, no ice machine. No coffee maker in room. $2.00 per cup of coffee in a machine all the way down in the lobby. Very limited parking so I had to park in a garage around the corner, which was cheaper by the day than the hotel parking; total of 12 spaces for a 100 room hotel.

Hotel was one block over from South Beach. One block over in opposite direction was a good BBQ Restaurant and many stores and shops. passable for a two day stay right at the beach.

Very basic hotel

Front Desk service is non existent. You are like a ghost around. As far as we see Front Desk are attended by the owners. Other employees are friendly. Not a good option.

Good deal if you want nightlife in Miami

The Hotel is old (Art Deco), but is a good deal if you don’t have much money and want to stay in the center of nightlife and close the beach. The room is big and the service is good. I booked this hotel two times and I liked.

The location is great ,is the best thing of this hotel ,but the staff could’t be worse.The housekeeping didn’t clean the room in the morning while we were out because they were "busy" and when we came back to the hotel at lunch time they wanted to make the service at this time and wanted we leave the room imediately,and when we ask them to wait for 40min,we would eat something and take a shower,they said that they couldn’t wait because they were leaving.So we have to make our time during vacation according to the hours they wanted?I didnotunderstandthis!They have also a great difficulty to comunicate with the gests in english.

The beach is just one square from the hotel and you have many restaurants and bars near it.I can come back just because the location.

Right in the heart of southbeach & within walking distance to most of the hottest clubs (besides Liv). you get what you pay for, spend more if you plan on spending much time in the room, but I never do.

THERE WAS ON ISSUE WITH ONE NIGHT AUDIT WHO CAME TO THE WRONG WAY AND DEMANDING SOMETHING THAT WAS ALREADY DONE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY. HE HAD AN ATTITUDE, DISRESPECTFUL. WHEN I CAME TO HIM AND ASK FOR HIS INFORMATION CUZ I WAS GOIN THE REPORT HIM TO HIS MANAGER, HE TOLD ME THAT HE DOES HAVE TO GIVE ME ANYTHING WHICH WAS HIGHLY IMPROPER FOR AN EMPLOYEE AT THAT OF HOTEL. BUT OTHER THAN THAT THE OTHER EMPLOYEES THERE ARE NICE AND KIND

Cheap but clean, Great Location!

Hotel is in great location, if you are looking for something special, this is not for you. If you are looking for somewhere to sleep that is clean this is your hotel. The service is sparse, the rooms are small and the hotel is old, but with that said, it is an economical hotel in the heart of South Beach.

If you can deal with an art deco(old) hotel that is clean and centrally located this hotel is for you..if you go in expecting great things, you will be disappointed.

Covenient

It was outdated to me, but thats what we expected on South Beach. It was very convenient. It was close to everything we needed to go to...food, beach, hotel, and clubs. We walked everywhere we went. The staff was nice. We had to ask them to replace our air conditioning because it was really hot in our room. It had a funny smell to it and the bathroom was really small. Didnt see any bugs and they had a refrigerator which was convenient. And it was a good price for what we got.

Bring your own towel, pillow case, and blanket. It sounds like a lot but I dont trust how often they wash the bedding. Bring shower shoes to walk around in at all times in the room/bathroom. Bring comfortable walking shoes because you will walk a lot during the day and night.

Would love to go back

This hotel is an a perfect spot great for the price we paid. It isnt the best but it was good for us not really a family place. There was a little kitchen which truly saves you lots of money. They have limited parking spaces there which is good not many other hotels have parking but the bad thing is you have to pay a fee everyday & it’s first come first serve.

Make use of the kitchen for quick a breakfast also right down the street on lincoln there is a good little spanish cafe for real good deals.

The hotel was a little bit old but it was ok you are in miami! you only need the hotel to sleep. The location is great too!

there is no room service

there is no room service one day they forgot to put towels in the room and they told me to go to the lobby to pick them up. the only way they vacumed the carpet was because i asked tha lady to.

Ok Hotel but Great location

Location of this hotel is great, the beach, clubs, bars, and restaurants are all in walking distance(under 10mins). The rooms have kitchenette in them, very handy.

Dont do it

I figured we wouldnt be spending much time in the hotel so I could save money on this and go to a cheaper hotel, esp bc of the great location on 15th and collins. However I learned a valuable lesson that you get what you pay for and you cant skimp on hotels. Staff was extremely rude and unfriendly. Most of them didn’t even know english. Maids knock on your door early in the morning like 9-10AM and you cant even communicate with them bc they don’t know a word of english. When I called to ask for towels they told me to come get them. Then they were stingy, only trying to give me 1 or 2. Shower kept getting stocked up and they didn’t want to fix it until we kept complaining. Room was extremely small and uncomfortable, not clean. Dresser drawers were broken. Hallways were dirty, stinky and VERY hot. AC didn’t work well. Room was very hot. Lobby is nice but very old and the whole hotel needs to be renovated. Only good thing was the pool, which was very nice, and the location was convenient in South Beach. Would never ever stay again. Heard Royal Palms across the st is worth the money. Again spend a little more so you get better quality and enjoy your time.

Don’t really listen to the negative reviews!!

I was looking for an affordable hotel to stay at in S Beach. I wanted it to be close to everything and just steps away from the beach. As I was reading reviews of all the hotels with affordable prices this one was the one with the less negative reviews, so I decided to take a chance on it. Don’t let the negative reviews fool you. I really don’t have anything negative to say. The location is great everything is a walking distance. The room was clean a little bit musty at first but nothing an scented candle or airfreshener can’t fix. All the rooms have a little Kitchenet I had a full size fridge my friend staying next to me had a small one. There were utensils but no pots or pans which i found to be odd. The water pressure in the shower was great. The pool was nice and clean and stood open passed 8 pm in contrary to what other reviewer’s said. The staff was great! contradicting what other people who have stayed there have said. Yeah it is kind of outdated (80% of South Beach is Outdated) but I thought it was a great place to stayed for the price I was paying. You get what you pay for.

I found SB to be pretty expensive. Beware of the gratitude, most places have a 17% gratitude no matter how big is your party and what you are eating. If you have kids buy one meal and share it because kids meals are expensive they charge 4 dollars for 4oz of apple juice. Try to book a hotel with a small kitchen you will save a lot. Also take advantage of the little spanish food stores or restaurants on Washington they have dinner, lunch and breadfast specials.

been there before in 2005 hotel was same and most of the people were there from my last visi i went in july this year in 2005 i went in sept there are more 30 and 40 year old singles in sept at this hotel also you can wear any kind of swimsuite you like at this pool they have the pool is there best feature

great for the price

as some of the reviews state this hotel is a bit outdated, but i didnt have any issues with it whats so ever. the staff was great, at times i had to get my friend to translate in spanish though when i asked for towels but its a minor detail. the room had a mini fridge, stove, glasses, clean bed sheets, etc. its a bit outdated but if you are there to enjoy southbeach and just pretty much shower and sleep this is the a great place to stay. there is also a nice clean pool and surroundings that fits about 20 or so pool lounge chairs. its close to everything. i woudl def go back there again.

ask for prices before buying drinks or even meals! i suggest walking around the area first and look at breakfast lunch and dinner deals and take it from there. note that most places already include 20% gratuity!!!!

Had to check out early because of the nasty condtion of the room.

This hotel was disgusting and that may be an understatement. My advice to those seeking a stay in South Beach should is to dish out the extra cash and stay somewhere where there won’t be stains in the sheets, thin walls, no locks on the door between the rooms, and working water. This place was HORRIBLE.
