Very nice for the price and location

Liked: Nice, small hotel, but with an upscale atmosphere. Really enjoyed the complimentary wine and snacks each evening. The room and bath were very clean, enjoyed having robe and the little extras they provide. The valet parking was a little pricey, but also nice to have. NOT LIKE: the AC/Heat system in our room was horrible, was not user-friendly at all. I requested help with it 2 different times and did not get satisfactory results, so we just lived with it....not good. The room was small, but the other complimentary ammenities made it okay.

Fantastic hotel, great location and value for money. Front and housekeeping staff very friendly, helpful and extremely professional. Seemed to not stock black tea for their complimentary breakfasts though so if you like your tea, BY0. 5 minutes walk to Beverly Hills Shopping complex (Bloomingdales, lots of shops!), CVS Pharmacy, Loehmanns. Bus running outside hotel is only a few stops to Farmers market and Grove Shopping Centre (The Grove is the nicest outdoor shopping centre I’ve been to - great shops and atmosphere). You need to catch another bus to head towards West Hollywood but it’s easy to navigate. Can recommend the Japanese restaurant a few doors down heading towards shopping complex - great food and service. The rooms in the lobby near the breakfast bar can be quite noisy as guests start eating from 6.30am so don’t stay in these rooms if you want to sleep in! Would definitely stay here again as it’s easy to get around LA from this location.

Great friendly service!

Overall great modern boutique hotel with wonderful service. Beds were great. The only minor drawbacks for me (I am super picky) was that rooms colors were dark beige which is not my favorite color scheme and the bathroom was a bit small. In walking distance of Joan on Third Cafe-Market (great food).

Nice

The staff was great and the place was so clean! The wine and cheese happy hour is very nice. It’s in a great location, you can walk everywhere. The only downfall is that the rooms are a little small.

Good option close to Beverly Hills and West Hollywood

Comfortable room and friendly staff in a convenient location close to Beverly Center and 3rd St restaurants. Good continental breakfast buffet. Nearby gym associated with hotel is pretty run down though

Excellent choice

Great hotel, right in the middle of LA. Great continental breakfast, free 24 hour use of business center, happy hour daily between 5 pm to 7 pm - wine and cheese, free as well!

Great Hotel

We are very suprise with this hotel, the rooms are very modern,clean and great location. Walking distance to Beverly Center, West Hollywood. The afternoon wine and cheese reception are wonderful. the breakfast is fabulous and very friendly staff. Great place to stay!

Calm Oasis in Perfect Location

Although the rooms are smaller than the mainstream hotel chains, the outstanding service, calm, modern room decor and quality bed linens is worth much more to us. It was nice to drive a few blocks to our own private get away in L.A. in the perfect location after a day/night. We would’ve preferred a room not at the back corner of the hotel such that our balcony was not off the alley, but didn’t feel like we’d be hangin’ on the balcony so we didn’t ask for a room change. We will definitely stay at Elan the next time we are in West Hollywood / L.A.The staff made us feel like we were valued and were genuinely nice. Thanks Elan for a good time in L.A.

Wonderful hotel and very convenient!!

Great stay at the Elan! The hotel staff was wonderful to us, very helpful with suggestion tours, directions, restaurants, etc. Room was very nice, clean, and comfortable. We will definitely stay there again when we return!

Great location

A nice quiet clean hotel with a pretty good location to all the main must see spots. Except for a slight olfactory flash back to staying in a hotel on the canals in Venice Italy not California; on the second floor hallway it was a great place to stay. The staff were friendly and most helpfull.

Pleasantly Suprised

We visit our son iin L.A. and have stayed at the Elan Modern several times before. It was just okay but the price was great and location perfect for our needs. We also have stayed at the Soffitel which is beautiful but very pricey. So when we returned to the Elan this time, we were thrilled at how beautifully renovated it was...rooms, lobby, etc. The service has always been excellent but now we won’t even consider staying anywhere else when youconsider the quality and price.

Great hotel for travelers to LA

We came out to LA for a visit to family. We weren’t planning on spending much time at the hotel because we were going to be out with relatives most of the time. We chose the hotel for proximity to my family but were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was and how courteous and helpful the staff was. The room was small but comfortable. The lobby area was cheerful and inviting to just relax there. The complimentary continental breakfast was a good cut above the standard hotel breakfasts.

Great value

This hotel is great value for the area, only a block away from a very upscale mall, nearby high end dining and just across the street from a very good family diner. Staff was extremely helpful. The buffet breakfast was among the best we have had. Room is small but adequate, only negative is that the bathroom lacks meaningful counter space for two persons.

Perfect Location, Classic Modern Boutique Experience

Elan worked out really well for us (young married couple, mid 20’s). Walk to Beverly Center and a host of good eateries. Service was fantastic, valet parking worked well and it was nice to have it while in LA. Highly recommended. We’ll stay there again.

Convinient and Unpretentious

Looks like a motel from outside. Although the housekeeping staff are green but tries hard to please. Have no complaint and will stay there again.

Overall very good with great service

Room was very nice, comfortable and well appointed. Great bed. Very nice amenities and excellent, friendly service. Will most definitely stay there again on next business trip. For the price it is far superior than other hotels in similar price range.

Good Value , Good Neighborhood

The kind, competent staff will go the extra distance to treat guests well. With their recent redecoration, it’s an attractive, comfortable place to stay near the Beverly Center. Walking distance to the Farmer’s Market & Grove, it’s even a long stroll from Melrose Ave, Pan Pacific Park and La Brea Tar Pits -- if you’re hardy. The Elan offers yummy complimentary breakfast buffet and wine/cheese in the evening. Beds are comfortable & everything is sparkling clean. Be careful about your room location -- stay near the lobby & you’re in earshot of breakfast noise. Walls are on the thin side, but that’s pretty typical of most hotels in the area. And, the Elan usually attracts considerate, quiet customers, which helps. Guests span age ranges, including international visitors, a few biz travelers & hip grandparents with family in the nabe.

Great restaurants in walking distance: on Beverly, try Swingers & Jan’s for casual fare or Cobras/Matadors for tapas. On 3rd, try Mishima -- wonderful kid’s meal. Or go to Farmer’s Market and sample the fantastic array from Cajun to BBQ to Brazilian to fish tacos to boreks to sushi to homemade ice cream & Pinkberry!Don’t miss smoothies with boba at the kiosk in the Grove.

Better than Expected Bargain

My friends and I were looking for an affordable hotel in LA in a convenient neighborhood. We couldn’t ask for more in the Elan. We had a great experience and would come back anytime considering the lower rates compared to it’s neighboring hotels.

Very impressed, Can’t wait to go back.

Nice place, friendly staff, some HVAC issues

My wife and I had a nice king room opening on to the center courtyard. Unfortunately, you hear HVAC noise in the courtyard. Also, it was difficult to get the HVAC adjusted property in our room.

Élan Hotel Modern is classy & convenient

The most outstanding feature at the Élan is the amazing friendliness and efficiency of the staff, from the housekeepers to the front desk to the parking valet. The breakfasts are superb and the location is central; one block from the Beverly Center.

Elegant, but not stuffy

Service was excellent. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The bed was comfortable and the decor pleasant - a nice break from the typical hotel decor. Be sure to ask for a rear facing room as you can hear the relatively heavy traffic on Beverly Blvd.

Make sure you visit the Garden of Taxco Mexican Restaurant (1113 N Harper Ave, West Hollywood, CA 90046) for a fairly cheap, authentic taste of Mexican food. It’s a family style restaurant, so it’s loud, but well worth it - but do go extremely hungry!
