“Only two staff trying to run hotel. Had to wait for a table then service, even though the restaurant only had a couple of people in it. As the girl couldn’t run everything, not her fault. Food was terrible and dry with brown coleslaw. The hotel didn’t seem that busy considering it was Easter weekend. Had the same problem I at the other Premiere Inn hotel in Exeter last year.”

“Driving surface for access to hotel and in car park is rough and uneven. Hotel entrance and reception feels tired and in need of redecoration. Room 2 was very poor. It was very hot and only one window would open. Electrical sockets were hard to access or did not work. Furniture felt mismatched to room and oddly arranged. Kettle was practically hidden on a low table in the corner in order to be near a socket. Bathroom floor was in very poor state and needs replacing. Basin plug did not work……

“The place is OK as a base which we used it for whilst we were in the area. The food was nice with the added beneit of a Gluten free menu and they do have separate prep areas for food. Rooms nice, although a little dated and some need a little attention in places. Reasonably priced for both food and drink, service can be a little slow at times. Bar area gets busy we tended to sit in the restaurant area as it was more quieter. Breakfasts tasty, good selection of food and hot food if you want……

“Although our stay was fleeting (just one night) we were made to feel extremely welcome by all of the staff. The room lacked a TV, but actually this was an absolute blessing and it made change not to reach for a remote control. Instead there was a DAB radio which was playing a soothing Classic FM when we entered our rather classy country pub hotel. Everything was to a very high standard in our room. We were even welcomed with a short, signed note on quality card wishing us personally, a warm and……
