"Such an amazing experience, my partner and I stayed here while attending the Maine Renaissance faire in Acton (only 20 minutes away) and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! Definitely the most glamorous camping experience we've ever had haha, we can't wait to book again"

Nestled on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee, this charming town offers scenic boat tours and prime fishing spots. Hike Mount Major for breathtaking views, or visit nearby Gunstock Mountain Resort for year-round outdoor adventures.
This property was newly renovated and was in great condition. The staff took us in early and was very nice. We had the pool as well as a short walk to the lake. Very happy with our overall experience.

Great facility. For an inn with only 44 rooms, they had all the comforts of a much larger hotel. food was fantastic and REASONABLE. Service was great in all aspects, from grounds people to server, bartender and front desk girls. About 31 miles from Weirs Beach, but just a two minute walk to downtown. We will definatley return to this location. Also, a twice daily ferry ride leaves from the premises for only $12!!!

Lovely hotel, very quiet, with a fabulous gas fireplace in our spacious room. Make reservations for the private pool (FYI there is no hot tub, despite what Expedia claims, which was a minor disappointment.) So convenient to get dinner at the attached steakhouse (the creamed spinach and steak tips with parm fries are recommended). Easy 15 minute drive to Gunstock. We hope to be back.

The location is amazing, I call it my slice of heaven, we have stayed there at least a half dz. times. The owner removed the old loud AC and replaced it with Eco friendly AC. I told him I miss the sound the window unit so he went out and bought me a fan! You have to love it!

Husband and I were up in this area to see a state championship basketball game that our granddaughter was playing in. The accomodations were gracious. The Innkeeper, Lynne and Marc, were terrific. Will be returning to the Nutmeg Inn.

My family and I stayed here for 4 days and we absolutely adored this place. Let’s just say every time we went out somewhere, we wanted to just come back to independence inn. It felt like home! It was the most relaxing vacation we’ve had. Will definitely be coming back in the near future.
