We were in room 6 which was advertised as lacking natural light, this was fine, but the decor was so dark and such a dull lightbulb, it made the room feel so dingy. “A lovely traditional pub within striking distance of many beautiful places. The food was always great particularly the breakfast and came out wonderfully hot and on hot place which is so often an issue in other hotels. It's lovely to sit out in the garden and we were staying while the World Cup and Wimbledon were on and it was easy to catch the games in the evening but also lots of space to get away from the action. “Quirky stay in Tunbridge Wells. The theme is fun and throughout the restaurant and hotel- decorations, staff uniforms, music and menu options. Lots of parking right outside. Food was lovely. The breakfast had unlimited coffee and juices and lots of options. The only downside was we went in the heatwave and the only thing available was a small desk fan so the heat was unbearable in the room so we slept really badly, could do with additional larger fans in the rooms”

“We enjoyed our one night stay in this historic pub, with free off street parking. Battle is a wonderful village full of history and we really enjoyed the evening exploring the town and enjoying the vista. The hotel is small, old and quaint. The room was small,but comfortable with a private bathroom with shower,along with complimentary tea and coffee. Would recommend this Inn for exploring this historic area of East Sussex.”

“Claverton staff, food, room and gardens all excellent. The functions on 2 nights in function room and beer garden below our room was noisy and therefore took edge off stay hence the 4 stars and would not return in the future.”

“The room was nice and big. The staff were friendly. The location was great, near lots of pubs and restaurants. The pub is good too, with friendly people. Not necessarily suited for young children on friday night as the area is loud until 0030, although it did quieten down once bars were shut. The shower water pressure in the evening seemed a lot lower than the morning.”
