“There were some lovely touches about the general accommodation such as pretty chandeliers, nice artwork and grand mirrors. We were in room 6 which was advertised as lacking natural light, this was fine, but the decor was so dark and such a dull lightbulb, it made the room feel so dingy. “What a beautiful location! Lovely hotel in a perfect spot. The staff were all so freindly and helpful, especially the extremely polite dark haired gentleman at the bar when we arrived. He took the trouble to show me to the room and explained everything. The breakfast was also very good, great choice and lovely to sit with a view of the Abbey. “We had a lovely stay at Amelia Cottage while visiting family in Battle. Such a nice and warm welcome from the owner. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need. The garden is lovely and well maintained with many flowers. The location is perfect, it is close to the playground and to Battle High Street. The local supermarket Jempsons is only a few minutes walk away and that was also very handy. We will definitely book again!”
