![The fortress Bukelon is located near the village of Matochina, the municipality of Svilengrad. The fortress is situated on a high hill, in the north end of the village and is encircling the whole ridge with its length of 150 meters and width of 60 meters. With its 18 meters height, the fortress Bukelon is an impressive and majestic view among the surrounding landscape. The citadel itself has the form of a cross, and the shorter part of the cross is oriented towards east, and the longer - towards west. 

In the year of 387 there was a great battle which took place here between the armies of the Emperor Valens and the Goths that ended with the complete rout of the Roman army and the death of the emperor.

Here in 1205, the army of tsar Kaloyan defeated the army of the knight - crusaders, and captured their leader - Emperor Baldwin of Flanders. The legend says that the emperor had spent his first night as a prisoner into this fortress. "hotelkamer en het hotel zelf erg ruim. Onbeschofte en ondeugende medewerkers, vooral die van aguapark. Zeer slecht Engels gesproken en slechte service. Noch slecht, noch erg goed eten. In 5 dagen had ik geen zonnebank die vanaf 6 uur 's ochtends met handdoeken omging het zwembad en op het strand.Het hotel is 4 sterren, maar ik zou het slechts 2 en een halve ster geven. Helemaal teleurgesteld, de eerste en laatste vakantie in Bulgarije"

"Worse place to stay ever. Since the moment you walk in it stinks like a public bathroom. The lobby is outdated. Please do Not trust the enhanced pictures shown there! It looks like if you are back in the 60s. The beds are super uncomfortable at a level like if you are sleeping on a piece of brick with a sheet on it. The AC is totally useless. No matter what temperature you put it would just not cold off the room. Old smelly carpets. The bathroom had mold and even the mirror was deteriorated. If...

"This is the first time we have been on holiday to Bulgaria. The apartment is 50 metres from, and looks out on to, the Black Sea. The apartment is new and well designed. There is a manager and cleaning staff on site. The apartment is ideal for a couple. There is a pleasant shared pool, and with the sea nearby, going to the beach is good too. "Amazing! Travelled with our 10 month old baby and would recommend to anyone staying in Sofia. Hotel was immaculate, staff were so friendly and welcoming. Hotel room was stunning and so spacious. We even had mini toiletries in the bathroom specifically for our baby and a cot was provided free of charge. 100% recommend. "

"Lovely place to stay whilst in Sofia. Ideal location with friendly staff. The room reminded me a little of student accommodation in its looks. It was lovely and clean. Ideal for me and my friend.
