“If you are looking to stay in an older Historic hotel with a great view give this one a try. The rooms are nicely finished and have as many modern amenities as one would expect. Your own private balcony is a real plus with views of the Ohio river and down town Madison. Walking to either is easy from this location as well if you so desire. “The hotel is very convenient to the highway. We stayed one night and it fit our need perfectly. Not a lot of room amenities but for one night it didn’t matter. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. The only thing that was a tiny bit bothersome was the wide gap at the bottom of the entry door. It let in a lot of light all night but actually served as a night light. B’fast was the usual quick bagel, muffin, waffle iron, etc. It served the purpose before we hit the road. I would stay again.”

“After traveling all day we got to the Hillcrest only to find out they did not have all of our rooms. They tried to get us to share the room they had. No phone call to let us know ahead of time. No help in finding us another room. Their thought was that I reserved 4 rooms and they only had 3, that I should still take the 3 rooms because I reserved them. We ended up at going back north to a hotel we passed 30 miles before. Very unhappy that Expedia would even list this property.”
