"The stay was perfect in every way. The Park Room that we stayed in was full of antiques, with stunning decor and four shuttered windows that overlooked the the estate, pond and horses, donkeys and cow. This is not a hotel-like palace but rather a grande-dame of a chateau with all the attendant wrinkles and wear that actually feels like it's been lived in by real families for centuries. "There were eight adult family members on vacation. The property is absolutely amazing. The house was very comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed during our stay. The grounds are meticulously maintained and the only sounds you hear are the sheep in the dry moat and the birds that inhabit the property. Though there is no air conditioning in the home, the temperatures were very manageable with the windows open. Chartres is a charming town, away from the hustle and bustle of Paris....
