Overall would describe our experience at the Grand as Sloppy. Beautifully renovated and decorated building and interiors. Rooms and beds were comfy and quiet.
Check in was slow and despite arriving at 4pm when check in is from 3pm we were told our room might not be ready.
Room could have been cleaner, 2 of us but only one Robe. Shower gel has been re-filled with water not shower gel.
Bar was chaos- despite there being free tables we were told we had to sit at the bar. We waited 15 mins for a 2 standard drinks whilst listening to the bar staff bicker. When we came to pay, couldn’t charge to the room as Reception had not asked us for credit card details. Very frustrating and this meant we couldn’t redeem an offer we were entitled to.
Breakfast was good.
Overall expected more, especially for what we paid. Disappointing- Staff need to up their game.
