“Nice spacious and very clean room. Well facilitated with a tea tray and bottles of water. Room was immensely hot but thankfully able to open all the windows. Liked fresh cooked breakfast (as opposed to usual buffets) however I would love to see a better drinkable coffee being served and a little gripe - after requesting hard poached egg with no ‘snot’ my egg was totally snotty when I cut it and ran into my breakfast so didn’t eat much. “All staff were excellent, super friendly and helpful, I'd booked an attic room but seeing my husband on crutches they immediately swapped us into a first floor room which I think was an upgrade as it had a huge freestanding copper bath and Chesterfield sofa as well as a king (or maybe super king) sized bed. “Good parking for the area. Reception, restaurant and bar have had a referb but rooms are in need of complete referb. On arrival our bathroom had not been cleaned and in a bit of a state, ( not very happy 🤔) however we went to reception to complain, Stuart the receptionist was first class very polite and apologetic and found us another room. “We had a warm welcome on a very rainy February day. Our room was warm and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was really good.
The weather stopped us visiting the Observatory, which was a shame.
We will definitely visit again at a different time of year, as the hotel is well placed to visit places of interest. ”

“Well situated. Hotel felt a bit dated but we got a good rate so I guess that reflects it. Staff were friendly but service a little slow and inefficient. We had two rooms for our family. My room was fine but the second room the shower didn’t drain and flooded the bathroom which was a nuisance. I slept perfectly well but it would have been nice to be able to change the temperature- the panel in my bedroom didn’t seem to work. Rooms were clean but looked like they could do with a refurb. ”
