“When we arrived we were told our room was no longer available due to a 'maintenance issue' so had to book somewhere else at the last minute. The lady that we spoke to was nice and did say they had tried to contact us during the day about the situation. However, checking the message we found in Expedia, it was only sent an hour before we arrived late afternoon. Not helpful when you are driving long distance. Might be a one off but, obviously, have to score the hotel low in this instance.”

“Lovely, friendly staff. We had 2 dogs with us and they were welcomed very nicely. The food in the restaurant was very average, although breakfast was excellent.
We had a king sized room, which was in my opinion very small. The room was very hot, a fan or air conditioning would be something to consider?
The bed was comfortable.
Having 2 reasonably large dogs, negotiating the upper floor was relatively difficult.”

“We stayed at Langley Castle Wednesday and Thursday. The castle itself is stunning, towering stone walls, peaceful grounds and interiors that balance medieval character with modern comfort. The staff were exceptional throughout our visit, friendly, attentive and genuinely welcoming. Check in was smooth and the breakfast and the evening meal was very good. “Peter and Sheila were wonderful hosts. They gave us ideas of where to eat and places to see. Breakfast was very good and enjoyable with them providing information about the area. If we return to the Northumberland area we will definitely return there to stay again.”
