"We had a wonderful time staying at Mahona Boutique Hotel. The property was very quaint and we loved the lush landscaping and pool. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. "The hotel was great and located right in front of the beach. Our room was clean, and the pool area was very nice, with bars around it and music playing. The buffet was also excellent, with a wide variety of choices. We traveled with two young kids, though I’m not sure this hotel is the best option for families. Cons: Most of the staff were friendly, but a few were not (at breakfast and at the bar), which was disappointing. Also, be careful with the “welcome package.” We thought it would provide information about the hotel and its amenities, but instead it was a sales presentation for a membership/package. We ended up spending about 1.5 hours there, and I still didn’t really understand the offer before we finally said stop. We later heard that some people spent up to four hours. We came to enjoy the hotel and our vacation, so this process should either be stopped or clearly explained in advance. It’s not normal to take up half a day from guests who are paying to enjoy their holiday. In the end, we didn’t even receive any useful information about the amenities. Restaurant reservations were also difficult. Most restaurants are first-come, first-served, and reservations aren’t available. For the steakhouse and the Japanese restaurant, you can reserve through the app, but you have to wake up at 7 a.m., and within five minutes everything is fully booked."
