"Room was not clean in the slightest. It was tidy and ill give them that but marks all over the walls, spider webs everywhere and rust and mould all over our bath. Staff were nice enough but there wasnt a member of staff anywhere to be seen when we were trying to check out. We didnt get breakfast or parking so cant speak on that."

"Great for a bargain overnight stay for a single person. Bed was comfy, carpet was new, everything was clean and I'm happy to know I've stayed in one of Carlisle's historic buildings in such a central location. Man on reception was polite and helpful, manned all night, and as I left in the morning breakfast area looked inviting. Overnight parking on the street wasn't too far away, unlimited between 6pm and 8.30am."

"My wife and I recently stayed here (April 28, 2026). The check-in process was quick and easy and the young lady checking me in was helpful and professional. The restaurant and 24-hour bar area near the check-in was filled with construction workers as was their vehicles (I have nothing against construction workers, I am just describing my experience). The downstairs area seemed dark and dingy and in need of a facelift. Upon receiving our room key, we proceeded to the third floor and opened our room. The flooring was vinyl laminate and the room was small. The flooring was extremely sticky as if alcohol or soda had been spilled. The floors had not been mopped or cleaned prior to our arrival. The bathroom door had a strip of black mold running along the bottom and the bathroom floor and shower area all ran together. I opted to leave the window open to try and let fresh air in since the room smelled of mold and was musky. What a mistake that was. I forgot the bar downstairs was open 24-hours. Throughout the night, men were heard arguing, fighting, and vomiting loudly non-stop. Then around 4am, the men decided to see who could bark like a dog the loudest. It sounded like a dog pound outside. My wife asked me why were there dogs fighting outside at 4am and I explained to her it was humans, not dogs. I the United States, we have a hotel chain called motel 6. If you want a cheap room with no amenities and probably not the cleanest, you go to motel 6. This is worse than motel 6."

"Fantastic nights sleep. Hotel was immaculate. Parking was available at the rear of the hotel - make sure your sat nav doesn’t take you to the front like mine did. Hotel staff helped with directions when I contacted them."

"Quick, easy check in. Ample parking. Our room had a walk in shower as requested but the room had a very musty stale smell you noticed as soon as you entered but it was clean. I found the bed too hard. Breakfast was ok, you have to leave the hotel and go across to the services."

"There were no disabled parking spots, only reserved ones for electric cars. I booked an executive room (112), and was surprised to note one of the windows looked onto the bin area and recycling, that has lights on most of the night and early morning noise. My bath had mould around the seals, and the bath plug had to be removed with a spoon, which dislodged more mould that floated in the bath. When I mentioned about changing my room before unpacking due to the view, there were no others available, and I mentioned the other comments at check out and nothing was said, just about the meal extras I had ordered and how I wanted to pay. For a 4 star I was disappointed"
