Placemakr Downtown Pittsburgh at The Pennsylvanian

"Check-in was a bit different. We arrived at the front desk at exactly 3:10pm. Was told they can't check us in until 4pm unless we were willing to pay a $50 early check-in fee. Wow!?! Needed to use the restroom as we just got in town. We were told there weren't any for us to use. I was in the process of walking in the direction of where a restroom would likely be located but was abruptly told by the male receptionist that, "You can't go over there!" Wow!?! I will say, there was a wedding ceremony or reception that was in preparation so apparently that trumped any customer service needs of guests and the restroom was for their use only. Regardless, we didn't feel welcome at all. Allowing us to enter our room less than an hour ahead of check-in would not cost them. If anything, it would have allowed us to at least have access to a restroom. Walking around the area to find a public restroom is hard. I'd expect a place that I'm paying to stay would have been permitted. Fast forward to the room. It was a nice layout and clean. I give Placemakr a decent rating for that. But the room lacked extra linens for the sofa bed that we needed. So I had to sleep on a pull out sofa bed on the bare mattress. Not fun and a nasty thought the more I think of it. We made it a point to enter and exit out of the side door. We only stayed on the property when we were tired and wanted to relax. We felt like intruders. Bianca, the receptionist, was very attractive though. That was a plus."

"All of the staff we came in contact with were so friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and we had no issues. The walk to Acrisure stadium only took 5 minutes. I will definitely stay here again."
